Healing Prayer 31st October 2019

This morning I was in pain again and was worrying about my weight. And I asked God for a scripture to help me.

I was thinking Im not really a big eater so why is the weight piling on. Then I rememebered Pastor David Sermon one day at the kings .

He said to loose a couple of stones in piritual weight we need to drop stones of resentment, anger, hate , guilt ect.....

so the Scripture that came to me was Mattthew 15:10 "Jesus called the crowd to him and said "Listen and understand."What goes into someone' mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them"

Defile meaning : Damage the purity or appearance of, mar or spoil.

So Lord please put an guard over my heart and mouth so I can heal. For thy glory !!

I was reading the rest of Matthew 15 and I started to read about The Canaanite Woman in verse 21-28.

The lady was asking Jesus to heal her daughter who was demon possessed and was suffering terribly. And Jesus said at first "It is not right to take the children bread and toss it to the dogs," but the lady said "Yesit is, Lord,"even the dogs eats the crumbs that fall from their master table" Then Jesus said to her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your requestis granted." Ad her daughter was healed at that moment.

Absalom

Absalom seemed to have everyhing going for him, but like other tragic figures in the Bible he tried to take what was not his.

LIFE LESSON: Absalom imitated hs father weaknesses instead of his strengths. He alowed selfishness to rule him, instead of GOD'S LAW. When he tried to oppose God's plan and unseat the rightful King, distruction came.

God forgives sin, but its after effects can be terrible.

DAY 301 

Distractions 

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” PHILIPPIANS 4:6–7

The used snowplow I bought for our driveway needed some work before it would be 100 percent usable. That was on my mind as I sat down with my wife for our daily devotional time together. My mind kept drifting, and then I came to these words in the devotional I was reading from: “Each time you plow your way through the massive distractions to communicate with me, you achieve victory.” Isn’t that great? God used the very words I was reading to get my attention back to where it needed to be.

This happens during prayer time as well. In fact, a friend told me that every time he starts praying, his mind drifts to something else. I told him I know exactly what he’s talking about. Sometimes I’ll be in prayer and my mind will drift to a cabinet I’m making or some other project.

I’m sure we all have trouble staying focused at times. From now on when it happens to me, I’m going to stop and say, “Sorry about that, Father. I’m back, and I really want to stay focused. Please help me.” I believe God knows that we struggle with this and just like he used the words of that devotional to speak to me, he will find a way to help us get back on track when we ask him.

PRAYER Father, thank you for helping me stay focused on you during our time together. I don’t want distractions to keep me from receiving all you have for me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Word For Today

Shout for joy today!

'He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.' Psalm 107:20 NIV

Each of us comes to the Lord in need of restoration. So he begins a renovation programme to repair our thoughts about him, about others and about ourselves. While you may look good on the outside, there's a constant hammering and sawing going on inside, as the Holy Spirit works to meet a deadline and make us an 'instrument for noble purposes' (2 Timothy 2:21 NIV). And one of the tools he uses is 'the foolishness of the message preached' (1 Corinthians 1:21 NKJV).

Whatever you do, never lose your appetite for Bible preaching: 'Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' (Romans 10:17 NKJV). It boggles the unregenerate mind to watch the preached word transform the most dysfunctional people into productive members of society. And most of the time God does all this while maintaining a veil of secrecy that protects our reputation and public perception. How gracious! Can you imagine how shocked people would be if they really knew the shape we were in when God found us? Only his power could have forced open the snare that had entrapped our minds and set us free to live again.

David declared, 'He sent out his Word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave... give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love' (Psalm 107:20-21 NIV). His Word provides cleansing for our shame, makes us righteous and gives us a roadmap to our destiny. Because of him, you matter. Because of him, you have nothing to fear. If anybody has a right to shout for joy today - it's you

#What stood out in this message was....Only his power could have forced open the snare that had entrapped our minds and set us free to live again. It stood out because this is what Pastor Micheal Of Living Waters said to me about the situation with Taw.

The Scripture Pastor Micheal gave me was Proverb 6: 1~6 and it was verse 5 that says "free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler"

#Plus also"Get out of the Grave" I have been lisening to a video a friend callled Steven gave me by Tasha Cobbs called "Girl Get Up" and it tells us to get up out of the grave. It is an amasing video

So my message today from The Word .......is to get out of that grave the devil has snared me in and take back my Joy that he has stolen from me. By praying Psalm 107:20 :"He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.

DAY 299 : We May Fail 

“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” DEUTERONOMY 31:8

We may fail—let me change that—we will fail! That’s a fact. But the good news is that God will never fail us! We are imperfect. If we think we aren’t, we can ask our loved ones and accountability partners or sponsors. God, on the other hand, is perfect—completely and unfailingly perfect! God has promised never to fail us, but what does that mean, exactly?

Does it mean he will never let us struggle? Does it mean he will never let us have losses? Does it mean he will never let us get into financial trouble? Does it mean he won’t let us suffer the consequences of our actions and behaviors? It does not! We will have struggles, losses, problems, consequences, but he will always be with us—no matter what we face.

 When we make poor choices, we have to face the consequences. When others make poor choices that affect us, we may have to face the hurt. But God will always be there to pick us up, dust us off, and put us back on our feet again. And we can help ourselves by seeking his will before we make a potentially risky choice and by setting appropriate boundaries for those we know are not always safe to be around.

PRAYER Father, I believe your words of promise that you will always be there for me. Show me how to live wisely. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
