Word For Today 27th November 2019

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, 'Excuses always replace progress.' God will accept your trials and errors, but he won't accept your excuses for not having tried.

So pray, accept responsibility and step out in faith. You may fail many times on your way to success, but if you keep trying and trusting God, you'll eventually succeed.

CHOOSEN

7I was reading today's verse from my Bible app

Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT

I love this verse but what stood out was I was at Living Waters last night at our bible study on Esther. We had finished the study but Pastor Micheal thought it would be a Good idea to finish the study with a film about Esther.

Its funny in the film she mentioned the book of chronicles. Then todays verse is from The Book Of Chronicles strange 😒 so I clicked on the button below today's verse to read more of The Books Of The Chronicles. And these two verse stood out because of the word I've highlighted "CHOOSEN"

“Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”
1 Chronicles 16:22 NLT

David also appointed Heman, Jeduthun, and the others chosen by name to give thanks to the Lord , for “his faithful love endures forever.”
1 Chronicles 16:41 NLT

See Esther was CHOOSEN FOR JUST A TIME AS THIS!!!!!

But that's not all. This morning I downloaded an app on my phone and its called THE CHOOSEN. The first episode is "I Have Called You By Your Name"

This is Amaising , God is trying to tell me something dont you think 😄😄

Here is the link to the app https://thechosen.link/1YMK9

I just watched the first one. And Mary Magdaline was the main character and I just love the verse that was hers

But now, this is what the LORD says-- he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. Isaiah 43:1 NIV

I was looking for a video of a song called The Lion Of Juda and came across this video and look at the scripture that is at the beginning. Another coincidence not!!!!!

I was fixing my book in my bookcase 2nd December and I found this book at look at the book marker...see what message I get from this.

The Edge

Ann, here's your Lion Bites daily prophetic word for Tuesday 26 November 19

Keep Going

Ann, you are on the edge of victory - push on. I announce the outcome: triumph over opposition! But you must keep pushing on. Your struggle, your patient endurance, your fierce determination are pounding the head of the enemy. I call you my sledgehammer! You are not fighting in vain. Keep going. Victory belongs to Me, and in the twinkling of an eye, I will share it with you.

2 Kings 13:18-19
Then he said, “Take the arrows,” and he took them. And Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground,” and he struck it three times and stopped. So the man of God was angry with him and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck down Aram until you had destroyed it. But now you shall strike Aram only three times."

Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me, says the Lord.

While I was reading my Lion Bites For Today. The song by lady Gaga was playing in my head. By I found a video about How she wrote it. And I loved it

Know Who Is Guiding You: Word For Today.

Know who's guiding you

Friday 22nd November 2019

'Let the Holy Spirit guide your lives.' Galatians 5:16 NLT

Dr Charles Stanley says: 'During a photographic trip my group had been travelling up a trail for almost three hours, and I began to have a funny feeling that we were going in the wrong direction. I asked the guide about it and he assured me everything was fine.

Not wanting to be presumptuous, I kept walking. After a few minutes, I noticed that my sense of uneasiness persisted; in fact, it was growing stronger. I pulled out my compass and looked at the map.

Sure enough, we were headed away from our intended destination. It took us close to an hour and a half to return to where we'd taken the incorrect turn. Sadly, this meant by the time we got to the site, our window for taking photographs was cut short. The event helped me realise two valuable lessons.

First, when we sense an internal witness encouraging us to take a certain course of action, we should listen. Second, when you and I choose people to guide us, we must be certain they know the path ahead better than we do.

Have you ever felt something alerting you to pay attention or pulling you in a particular direction? Perhaps you were listening to a sermon and you sensed God telling you to follow him in obedience. Or maybe you walked into a restaurant and were filled with dread, as if you should leave quickly.

If you're a believer, most likely these feelings were the promptings of the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, warning you about danger, and encouraging you to submit to God's purposes.'

Today, let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Stealing My Joy 16th November 2019.

I had a great day on Saturday at The Ladies Conference at Living Waters Church then at Lilly-May Dance Show at night.

But Satan is still trying to steal my joy of that night 3 days later. What he is using is the people that were jumping the Que. It wasn't even all the people that were jumping the que that is anoying me , because there were quite a few doing it. It was the ones from the Kings Church (The Christians Ones)

But I don't know why it is still bothering me about those people, because we had great seats at Lilly's show and the show was amaising. And we even got a taxi straight away. So everything turned out Amaising.

I think it was because they were Christians and that's what's sticking in my throat.

When I was thinking why am I still annoyed,  It reminds me of the story of the two monks crossing the river. Here is my answer 😊

A senior monk and a junior monk were traveling together. At one point, they came to a river with a strong current. As the monks were preparing to cross the river, they saw a very young and beautiful woman also attempting to cross. The young woman asked if they could help her cross to the other side.

The two monks glanced at one another because they had taken vows not to touch a woman.

Then, without a word, the older monk picked up the woman, carried her across the river, placed her gently on the other side, and carried on his
journey.

The younger monk couldn’t believe what had just happened. After rejoining his companion, he was speechless, and an hour passed without a word between them.

Two more hours passed, then three, finally the younger monk could contain himself any longer, and blurted out “As monks, we are not permitted a woman, how could you then carry that woman on your shoulders?”

The older monk looked at him and replied, “Brother, I set her down on the other side of the river, why are you still carrying her?”

This simple Zen story has a beautiful message about living in the present moment. How often do we carry around past hurts, holding onto resentments when the only person we are really hurting is ourselves.

We all go through times in life when other people say things or behave in a way that is hurtful towards us. We can chose to ruminate over past actions or events, but it will ultimately weigh us down and sap our energy.

Instead we can choose to let go of what doesn’t serve us anymore and concentrate on the present moment. Until we can find a level of peace and happiness in the present circumstances of our lives, we will never be content, because ‘now’ is all we will ever have.

Apocalypse" (ἀποκάλυψις) is a Greek word meaning "revelation", "an unveiling or unfolding of things not previously known and which could not be known apart from the unveiling". As a genre, apocalyptic literature details the authors' visions of the end times as revealed by an angel or other heavenly messenger.

Anger Management From My Bible App.

Anger management (1)

Friday 8th November 2019

'Don't sin by letting anger control you.' Ephesians 4:26 NLT

The first mention of anger in Scripture is when Cain got so angry with his brother Abel that he murdered him. In 2017, investigation showed that over half of all homicides in England and Wales were the result of some type of anger. But anger not only kills others, it can kill you. Dr Redford Williams, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioural Science at Duke University, states: 'The hostility and anger associated with Type-A behaviour is a major contributor to heart disease. People who struggle with anger are five times more likely to suffer coronary heart disease, and people with heart disease more than double their risk of a heart attack when they get angry.'
Of course, there's a difference between anger and mere aggravation. A little girl asked her father to explain that difference. So he picked up the phone, dialled a number, allowed his daughter to listen in, and when the other person answered, he said, 'Hello. Is Melvin there?' Back came the answer, 'There's no one here named Melvin. Why don't you look up numbers before you dial them?' The father waited a moment, then re-dialled the number. 'Hello. Is Melvin there?' The man yelled, 'I just told you there's no Melvin here! Don't call this number again!' then slammed down the receiver. The father looked at his daughter and said, 'Honey, that was anger. Now let me show you aggravation.' He dialled the number again and when a voice roared back, 'Hello!' her dad calmly said, 'Hi. This is Melvin, have there been any calls for me?'
The word anger is only one letter short of the word danger. So ask God to help you manage your anger. He will

'A quick-tempered man acts foolishly.' Proverbs 14:17 NKJV
The truth is that when your temper gets the best of you, it reveals the worst of you.
The Bible says three things about unrighteous anger that you need to keep in mind: (1) It's stupid. 'A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of wicked intentions is hated' (Proverbs 14:17 NKJV). Benjamin Franklin wrote in Poor Richard's Almanac: 'Take this remark from Richard poor and lame; Whate'er's begun in anger ends in shame.' (2) It's divisive. 'A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them' (Proverbs 15:18 NLT). Occasionally we may become angry for good reason. But most of the time it's because we're selfish, impatient, irritated or hurt about the way we have been treated. Humourist Will Rogers once said, 'People who fly into a rage seldom make a good landing.' Instead of solving the problem, anger only makes it worse. (3) It's destructive. 'Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty. If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again' (Proverbs 19:19 NLT). That means when you keep losing your temper, you keep losing. You will lose friends, you will lose the love and respect of your family, you will lose your business associates, and it can even cause you to lose your health.
John Hunter, a psychologist who had a severe heart condition, said, 'My life is at the mercy of the person who can make me angry...the first scoundrel who gets me angry can kill me.' And guess what? That scoundrel can be you! So ask God to help you control your anger.

Anger management (3)

Sunday 10th November 2019

'He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty.' Proverbs 16:32 NKJV
The Bible says, 'He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city' (Proverbs 16:32 NKJV). As a Christian you have the Holy Spirit living within you, and one of the fruits of the Spirit is 'self-control' (see Galatians 5:23). That means as a Christian you can control your temper, and as a Christian you must control it.
You say, 'I get mad easily because I was born with that nature!' You're not supposed to live according to your old nature, but your new one! Anger is like a river. Controlled, it can generate enough electricity to power an entire city. Uncontrolled, it can overflow its banks and become a raging flood that destroys everything in its path. And as surely as a river can be controlled, so can your temper. Have you ever been in a big argument at home with your spouse or one of your children? Suddenly the telephone rings; instantly you pick it up and answer in a soft, controlled tone, 'Hello-o-o-o. May I help you?' What just happened? You proved that your anger can be controlled and tamed. The Bible says, 'People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness' (Proverbs 14:29 NLT).
The more calmly you see a situation, the more clearly you'll see how to handle it. So if you have a quick temper, here's some good advice. When you're angry, count to ten before you speak. And when you're really angry, count to one hundred - then don't say anything.

Journal : More Than A Conqueror----You Are A Overcomer

When I was reading my Daily Inspirational Reading above by Joyce Meyer

I remember the card Marion Lawrie from the Kings Church gave me in 2015. Marion was a big part in my healing process when I went to the Kings. She took me under her wing.

this reminds me of a scripture---- Psalm 91:4
"He wil cover you with his feathers, and under his wing you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your sheild and rampart"

I wasnt sure of the meaning of rampart so i google it and it says "A Protective Barrier" And that was what marrion was for me. When I look at the picture of a rampart its a walkway, but your protected from outside sources by the wall. And God gave me Marion as a wall of protection from all the outside stuff that was going on in my life at that time ...

It was also mentioned by Louise at Living Waters Church. Another wonderfull lady I have met through goiing to church.

Peace and Joy

And the stone I choosed this morning was Peace...Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

It is so true when we have Gods peace we also have joy. And thats the tittle of Joyce message today above "PEACE AND JOY"

Thats how when satan comes to steal our Joy our peace is stolen also. so dont let anyone steal your Joy and Peace.

At the moment I am enjoying watching a gentleman called DR Henry Cloud.  I was watching one of his videos on ýoutube this morning called What are Boundaries  and in this video he talks about healthy boundaries.

Just sometimes we just need to have healthy boundaries in place to protect our peace and joy.

Lion Bites : Sleep

  Deep, Sweet Sleep

Psalm 127:2
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves.

God gives sleep to His beloved! That’s you, Ann.
There is healing for insomnia, disrupted sleep and poor sleep for the people of God right now. The Holy Spirit is coming to help you unwind and enter into deep rest as you lay in your bed at night, for He loves to give sleep to those He loves. As you enter into sleep, God will work on your behalf; fighting battles, releasing healing, downloading solutions and more! God can do more in your night hours as you rest than you can do when you toil during the day in your own strength. So, leave striving at the door and welcome the God of rest to come and usher you into deep, sweet, Holy Spirit sleep.

Advocate

Question: "What does it mean that Jesus is our Advocate?"

Answer:
An advocate is a person who comes to our aid or pleads our case to a judge. Advocates offer support, strength, and counsel and intercede for us when necessary.

The Bible says that Jesus is an Advocate for those who’ve put their trust in Him:

(1 John 2:1).
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”

In other verses, Jesus calls the Holy Spirit our Advocate.

I Love these verse it mentions  (John 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7).

John 14:16 NIV
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever"

John 14:26 NIV
"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

John 15:26 NIV
“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me.

John 16:7 NIV

"But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you."

The English word advocate has been translated from the Greek word parakleton, which means “helper, adviser, or counselor.”
