Verse For 29th January 2020

1. RECEIVE.

Prepare your heart to hear from God. Try a simple prayer like this…
Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse For Today :

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Luke 16:10 NIV

2. Reflect.

Ask yourself what this verse might be trying to say, and think deeply on your answers. Here are just a few examples we might get from today’s verse........

Jesus expects me to share my faith with other people.
When I demonstrate God’s love, that draws others to Him.
I should work to remove things from my life that don’t show God’s love.
It is often through challenges that God grows my capacity to love others.

What I got from it was We need to be honest. If we can't be trusted with the little things in life who is going to trust us with bigger thing. Trust is a big issue for me so I need to learn to be a person that people can trust.

For instance I could never trust Taw again not to hurt my feelings. He has done it too much. I can forgive but trust would have to be earned...

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer.

God you know this is a big issue for me.  When I became a Born Again Christian I picked Proverbs 3:5-6 as my life verse.

Because I could trust no one not even myself or You. But the more I am having a relationship with your son the more my heart is opening up.

I have choosen The Passion Translation. Because my passion for you has grown through my trials in life and I am growing to trust little by little.

I just love this translation, because father you know my heart and I have placed it in your hands to do as you want. Let me do your will Papa.

It's so funny how I ended up calling you Papa. Just like Makensie in the shack. ๐Ÿ’–

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 TPT
