Proverb 18:21 Encounter Meditation.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.  Proverbs 18:21 (ESV)

Regretting Old Tweets

Do the words you've been hearing on the news lately ever cause you to tremble?

The theme of this meditation from Proverbs 18 is the lingering power of words.  The power to hurt.  The power to cause fear. And the power of God's word to heal and soothe!

Let me pray now that you remember the power of your tongue.  Remember the consequences of your words. Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one who questions you.  Now may the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and give you His peace through Christ. Amen.

John 3:13 Encounter Meditation

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.  God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through him. John 3:16-17 (CEB)

Yes, I Believe!

Do you ever feel judged and condemned?  Perhaps by the world?  Today is the fifth Sunday of Lent and a perfect day to let Jesus shape your mind and will, O Father.  A day to freely love what He desires as you seek His face.

This meditation from John 3 is a reflection on believing that God did not send his Son into the world to condemn you, but in order that you might be saved through him.

Accept this prayer of benediction to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.  Remember that God so loved you that he gave his only Son to you so that when you believe in him you won’t perish but you will have eternal life.  May you believe in the Christ, the transforming presence of the Holy Spirit, and encounter the saving power of God now and always.  Amen.

John 10:11 Encounter Meditation.

I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His own life for the sheep. John 10:11(AMP)

God Knows You

Are the walls pressing in?  Are you beginning to feel isolated and alone?  Do you know that God knows you personally?  He knows your name. He wrote it on the palm of His hand.

The theme of this meditation from John 10 is about coming to know the nature and character of God who knows you. Remembering that the King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and Creator of the universe knows you. He knows your name.  And He is always checking in.

Now welcome this prayer of blessing to remember that when you find yourself wandering and isolated, remember that Jesus is the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for you, His sheep.  May you know the substitutionary death of Christ, the guiding awareness of the Holy Spirit, and encounter the righteousness of God now and always.

I Need To See God

What do you desire the most? What are you living for? Those are the most critical questions of any life, but particularly the Christian life.

So live a life of integrity, moral courage, and godly character so you may experience the presence of Christ, the revealed way of the Holy Spirit, and encounter the glory of the Holy Father now and always.
