The helmet of Salvation Ephesians 6:11-17. Put the full armor of God, so that you can take yours stand against the devils schemes...Take the helmet

Do you ever face doubt and discouragement in your daily walk with Christ. God and His Word encourages His children. To view life as a spiritual  battle. Even gives His children the spiritual tools to defeat doubt and discourage.

When was the test time you felt prepared for the spiritual of life. 

Salvation is the ultimate weapon against doubt and discouragement.  It promises that no matter what happens today you'll  spend eternity with God.

Slow down now and take a days relaxing breath. Release your trouble to God. The apostle  Paul tells us in Ephesian chapter 6 to put on the full armor of 
God so when the day of evil comes you will be able to stand your ground. In verse 17 he urges us to put on the Helmet of Salvation this means more than just Salvation from sin. It referring to the hope and assurance of Salvation.

He can your assurance of your own salvation impact your daily life. A physical  helmet protects the most important part of 
a solders body his head. The Helmet of Salvation protest something more important your soul. With it you are focused on the eternal.  With it you have the power to live a joy filled life.

Father thank you for loving me when I was unlovable. Thank you for saving me when I was destined for an eternity apart from you. Help me apply these truths to my life to resist doubt and discouragement.  To wear The Helmet of Salvation each day and to keep my eyes on you. To the name of Jesus I pray Amen.

Take a few more moments with God thinking specifically  how you can stay focused on Him this week. God saved you for a purpose. He gave you the power to defeat doubt and discouragement. Trust Him this week. Untill the next time may you abide in Christ.

Day 27 of Chapter 1 of My Sory For His Glory.

This morning I was listening to a short meditation from abide. And here is what I got from it.

Our Righteousness Comes From God

Roman's 13:14 
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Welcome to this Meditation by Tyler  Boss. 

What's guarding your heart Ephesians  6:14 says we have to put on the breastplate of righteousness to stand strong in our spiritual  battles. 

What does that look like. Pause for a moment to take a deep breath. Release any tension that you may be feeling in your shoulders and neck.

Listen to Roman's 13:14....

Our righteousness is not of it's own making. That what protects our heart and our very soul is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sit with that for a few minutes more. Our core being is protected by the blood of Jesus. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we live lives worthy of our calling.

Let's Pray: Father God I praise You for your righteousness and Faithfulness. For your strength and Your goodness to me. For each moment of the day help me clothe myself in Christ to protect my heart from evil to stand firm.  I confess that so often I don't feel strong so thank you for being my Strength, my Rock, my Redeemer. It's  in the strong name of Jesus I pray....Amen

Take a few more moments with God if you can. Picture yourself clad in all the Armor of God. With your breastplate securely fastened guarding you heart.


Now I know what the breastplate of Righteousness  means to me. It's for Jesus to protect my heart!!!!! Jesus is the Righteousness of God.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.


Grace and Truth 

We live in a world of individual classrooms, because we get to be taught by the experiences of others. Some of us have endured traumatic events in our lives and because of God’s grace, we have survived, been redeemed, and made completely new in Christ! This isn’t the case for everyone. The very pain and turmoil some have experienced is what led them to turn from God. Because of that, their viewpoint will look quite differently from ours as followers of Jesus. 

When we encounter people with a belief that is contrary to ours, we must understand that we're representing Jesus, and we might be the catalyst God uses to change their lives. This is where truth, covered in grace, comes in. Often, when people disagree with us, our anger rises and we want to defend our beliefs and even our God. It’s in these moments where we can, and should, speak the truth, but simultaneously allow the Holy Spirit to lead us so that we won’t cave into our sinful desires. When we walk according to the Spirit’s leading, we’ll exhibit His fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. 

If we find ourselves in a discussion with someone who clearly has different beliefs than us, it’s okay to admit that we don't have all the answers. As followers of Jesus, we don’t know everything about God. If we did, we’d be Him. But, as Pastor Andy Stanley says, “You don’t have to understand everything to believe in something.” So, be honest and let them know that you’re still learning and growing in your faith.

Ultimately, having people in our lives we don’t agree with actually makes us stronger. If we only surround ourselves with people we always agree with, we’ll never be stretched. And as we learn from others, it’s okay if our viewpoints change. Maybe we hear someone’s viewpoint about a political issue that differs from ours, and we decide that we actually agree with them. But, as followers of Christ, we have to remember that adopting our own version of the truth is not what God has called us to. We always line up our views with a godly perspective. We are to live according to His truth. 

As followers of Jesus, are we more passionate about our beliefs on certain hot topics that we forget that we’re to love others? If we’re more concerned with our stance than we are with loving the people God sent His Son to die for, then we have truly missed the mark. These desires can never outweigh our spiritual calling. If they do, we’re glorifying earthly issues instead of glorifying our Heavenly Father.

Day 26 Of Chapter 1 Of My Story For His Glory 2021.

This morning I started off my chaptee by listening to an Abide Meditation. Here is the content of the Meditation. 

The devil stands ready to trick you. How can you be prepared to resist his lies. Sometimes the devil will trick you by telling you what you want to hear. He tickles  your ears and make you feel good. 

Some times the devil will whisper that you have special knowledge that other people don't have. He'll use lies that separate you from people you love. How can you resist the temptation to fall for these lies.

Our first line of defence is the word of God. God gives His truth to protect us from satan lyes in Ephesians 6:14.

Paul calls truth a belt we can put it in circles and protect our organs. It keeps  our pants from fallen down and embarrassing us.

 Place your hand in a place were a belt would be and as you breathe deeply through this, pause ask God to protect you with his truth. Ask God to present any lies pertaining into your inner most parts.

Stand there before having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness. 

So the next time your thinking about filling your mind with voices of your favourite talk radio program of cable news show. Or next time your thinking of turning to facebook to find the truth. Pause and choose instead to let the word of God dwell in.

The truth is not always easy to hear but always good to know. 

Heavenly Father of all the voices  I hear through out my day I want your voices your voice to be the loudest I want to know. You and the guide by your spirit into all truth. 

Protect, me from the lies of the enemy. Open my eyes strengthen my mind and soften heart to hear you in the name of jesus I pray amen.

All of us have whether we meant to or not told lies. All of have believed lies. And we have all failed to love the truth as we should. Take a moment and confess your sins to the lord.

Now hear this truth when you confess your sins. God is faithfull and just to forgive you and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. 

Father God I take in so much information every day it flys at me from radio, social media, television and I know that my own bias can get in the way of me really knowing what's true. Give me eyes to see your truth and ears to hear it. Protect me from the lies of the evil and and set me free from the lies of the evil one and set me free with your truth. In the name of jesus I pray  Amen.

The truth is not always easy to hear, but dear friend it's  always good. Set your heart in God's  truth today.. untill the next time in Christ

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

My Story For His Glory... Day 24 Of Chapter 1.

Started a new Bible Plan today :
Hope this is helpful because Jesus told us to even love our enemies.

 I was brought up if anyone did something to you , you were to get them back. 

Resentment is like a cancer it eats away at you. And the antidote for this is "LOVE". 

When you have love in your heart it dissolves all hate. Because the opposite of hate is Love.


Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22  (ESV)

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN BETRAYED

Betrayal is one thing that binds us together.  Have you been betrayed?

My New Book : Letting Go Of Fear.



Got my new book today from amazon. Its called Letting Go Of Fear. PUT ASIDEYOUR ANXIOUS THOUGHTS AND EMBRACE GOD'S PERSPECTIVE. By Neil T Anderson & Rich Miller.

What I usually do with a new book is open at a page randomly and see what jumps out. As usual it's always something which I really need at this time in my life. 

I opened it at page 147 and it's about Fear of Failure. The Chapter was PRIDE VERSUS HUMILITY.

What made me laugh was. I was on a zoom meeting on Tues and most of the comments was about pride and humility I had said " Pride comes before a fall" And a lot of the comments said it's hard to be humble. Which is if we dont ask God for help. 

So looking forward to reading this book. I'll put in here what I find helpful. πŸ‘

We all know the heartbreak of rejection, as well as the jubilation of being chosen, don't we? Have they come to you in equal doses or has your life been more defined by exclusion than acceptance?   

This meditation from Matthew 5 will help you discover, perhaps for the first time, that you are accepted.  More than mere acceptance, you are in fact divinely chosen by God. Chosen to be his ambassador and representative.  You are chosen to be his very light shining into the world.

 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full Armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the  rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."  Ephesians 6:10-12 (NIV)

 

Do you know the glorious feeling of returning from a vacation to once again fall asleep in your own bed?  But then to wake up in the night unsure of where you are? Feeling disoriented, confused, and even a bit frightened for a moment?


This meditation from Ephesians 6 will help you discover that the hope found in God’s mighty power will shine a bright familiar light into the world, despite the darkness.

New Bible Stand.

I got a Bible Stand yesterday so I placed my Bible on it and when I was reading it . This Scripture  that jumped out at me was Isaiah 59 :21. 

“As for Me,” says the Lord , “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord , “from this time and forevermore.”
Isaiah 59:21 NKJV

It's from the New King James Bible with commentary from Max Lucado. I got it at the ladies day at Living Waters.

Then this morning I was lying in my bed and I open my Bible with commentary from Joyce Meyer.

So the amaising thing that happened was when I was closing the Bible I was putting the ribbon in the page that is with my Bible cover and WOW the words that stood out was "THE BOOK OF THE LAW SHALL NOT DEPART FROM YOUR MOUTH; MEDITATE ON IT DAY AND NIGHT" ..Joshua 1:8

its not very clear it's a bit worn. I may get a gold pen and fill it in again because that verse is one I need to meditate on because I'm not to sure of the meaning. 

I thought we were to speak the word of God. But when I read this it says "Do not let the word depart from your mouth.

Breaking The Spirit of Rejection


I just read this in this book.

Deliverance and restoration are for people who really want it—for those who see their condition and say, “God, only You can do this, and I am going to do what it takes. I’m going to press through. I’m going to get my healing.”

Some people just give up. They want the easy way out. They don’t want to do any praying. They want pastors, prophets, counselors, and intercessors to do all the work. They want us to use our anointing to set them free, but they won’t read the Word, pray, repent, and fast. They keep coming to the altar with the same devils because they haven’t spent any time humbling themselves.

Those who are serious about restoration are the ones who are on their way to it. This is not some, “Well, if God wants to do it, He’ll do it. If not, that’s OK.” No. This is your life. Get in the right posture, and get ready for God to work a miracle of restoration in your life.

This is ME!!!!!!!.




I was texting Marcella and it dawned on me how I was feeling this way. The devil was warring against me because I was using my time to get closer to God. And after listening to this song "THIS IS ME"  It help me fight against the devils negative thoughts. I need to see myself as God sees me as it says in Psalm 139:14....I AM FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‡πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‡πŸ™Œ

Then Ephesians 6:12(NIV)  came to me

JANUARY 17: Two Directions of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is one of the most beautiful words in any language. What makes it such a special and beautiful word? Consider some of the results that flow from forgiveness: reconciliation, peace, harmony, understanding, fellowship. How our world today stands in such dire need of these things!

In contrast, consider some of the consequences that flow from our failure to give and receive forgiveness: bitterness, strife, disharmony, hatred, and war. At times, it seems as though the entire human race is in danger of being overwhelmed by these evil, negative forces. If we are ever to rise above these conditions, it will be only as we learn and apply the principles of forgiveness.

There are two directions of forgiveness presented in the Bible. These two directions are portrayed by that great symbol of our Christian faith: the cross. The cross has two beams—one vertical, one horizontal—that represent the two directions of forgiveness. The vertical beam represents the forgiveness that we all need to receive from God and can be received only through our identification with the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The horizontal beam represents our relationships with our fellow men, and it speaks of the forgiveness that, in this case, has two directions: the forgiveness we need to receive from others, and the forgiveness we need to extend to others. Once again, the only place where we can receive the grace for that kind of forgiveness is the cross.

Thank You, Lord, for the blood of Jesus. I proclaim that I not only receive God’s forgiveness; I also open myself up to receive the forgiveness of others, and I extend my forgiveness to them, as well. Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins are forgiven. Amen.

Our emotions were leading us to thoughts, and those thoughts were dictating our decisions, and our decisions were determining behaviors, and then the behaviors were shaping our relationships, all of which would take us back to either healthy or unhealthy thoughts. 

Round and round and round we go, spinning down, seemingly out of control, our lives becoming defined by this endless cycle. 

Depressing.

Unless. Unless there is a way to interrupt it.

What if, instead of spending our energy trying to fix the symptoms, we went to the root of the problem? The reality is that our emotions are a byproduct of the way we think. What’s good about this news is that we can change our thinking. 

The apostle Paul understood the war that takes place in our thoughts, how our circumstances and imaginations can become weapons that undermine our faith and hope. The Bible records his bold declaration that we are to “take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5, ESV).

Take every thought captive? Is this even possible? Because honestly, my thoughts run wild a lot of the time. But my deep dive into the inner workings of the brain confirmed what the Bible says: we can take every thought captive. Not only can our thoughts be changed, but we can be the ones to change them. 

God, help me break the cycle of my out-of-control thoughts. I want Your truths to invade every decision, every emotion, every thought I have. Amen.


 2 Corinthians 10:3‭-‬5 NIV

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

James 4:7 NIV

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Philippians 4:8 NIV

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.



Day 2 :  One Thing

It’s incredible, if you think about it: How can something we can’t see control so much of who we are, determine what we feel and what we do and what we say or don’t, dictate how we move or sleep, and inform what we want, what we hate, and what we love? 

Capturing all our thoughts may seem an impossible task, especially when we consider our potential number of thoughts per minute. Researchers tell us that we have over 30,000 thoughts a day. That means we might think about thirty-one thoughts per waking minute. But what if one thought held the power to interrupt our spirals and bring peace to our mental chaos? 

The apostle Paul’s own life was a picture of interruption. After the scales fell from his eyes, his mind centered on an entirely new reality. There was no other hope, no other narrative, no other track playing in the background. He stopped the things that had distracted him and let himself focus on one simple thing: “To me to live is Christ,” Paul wrote in Philippians 1:21, “and to die is gain” (ESV). It’s all—always—about Christ. 

Paul experienced a massive shift, and now he was a totally different man. No longer was he a slave to his circumstances or his emotions. Paul now chose to live aware of the power of Christ in him, through him, and for him. Paul now had the power of the Spirit—the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and he chose to live aware of and under that power. 

God built a way for us to escape the downward spiral of our toxic thoughts. But we rarely take it. We have bought the lie that we are victims of our thoughts rather than warriors equipped to fight on the front lines of the greatest battle of our generation: the battle for our minds. 

God, You equip me for this battle against the lies I believe about who I am and who You are. Help me never to feel a victim to my thoughts, because You are already victorious! Amen.

Philippians 1:21 AMP 

For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity].

1 Timothy 1:12‭-‬17 AMP

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has granted me [the needed] strength and made me able for this, because He considered me faithful and trustworthy, putting me into service [for this ministry], even though I was formerly a blasphemer [of our Lord] and a persecutor [of His church] and a shameful and outrageous and violent aggressor [toward believers]. Yet I was shown mercy because I acted out of ignorance in unbelief. The grace of our Lord [His amazing, unmerited favor and blessing] flowed out in superabundance [for me, together] with the faith and love which are [realized] in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful and trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance and approval, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost. Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost [of sinners], Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example or pattern for those who would believe in Him for eternal life. Now to the King of the ages [eternal], immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

John 8:44 AMP

You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths.


DAY 3 : Thinking About Thinking

Learning to capture our thoughts matters. Because how we think shapes how we live.

Lies such as I’m helpless, I’m worthless, I’m unlovable, shape our thinking, our emotions, and the way we respond to the world around us. They trap us in their cycle of distraction and distortion and pain, preventing us from recognizing the truth we should believe. Most detrimentally, they change how we view God. Every lie we buy into about ourselves is rooted in what we believe about God. 

Let’s say I tend to feel worthless and invisible. And let’s say I read Ephesians 1 and learn that God because He deeply loves me, chooses me and adopts me. Even if I don’t overtly deny the validity of that premise, I still doubt it is true for me. I nod at the truth, but I never fully absorb it and let it shape my identity. 

Then let’s say I am married to a spouse who is typically distracted with work. I don’t feel seen in our marriage, which confirms my deep-seated fear that I am indeed worthless and invisible. So even in the most inconsequential of arguments with my husband, I feel anxious and start to spin every time he’s short with me. 

I can’t see all that he has on his shoulders, I can’t empathize with his stresses, and my needs exceed his ability to ever meet them. 

Before long we are fighting constantly, and we don’t even know why. My husband now has become the enemy in my mind and can’t ever seem to say what I need to hear or be whom I need him to be. 

And the spiral of my thoughts has now invaded my relationships and robbed me of joy and peace. 

Until I throw off the lie that God’s love isn’t for me, my emotions, decisions, behaviours, and relationships will remain twisted up in the mistaken belief that I’m worthless. 

When we begin to think about our thoughts, perhaps for the first time, we can stop the downward spiral. We can reset and redirect them. That’s our hope. Not that we would wrestle each and every fear, but that we would allow God to take up so much space in our thinking that our fears will shrink in comparison. 

Lord, I want You and Your truths to reign in my mind! Amen.

Ephesians 1:4‭-‬5 AMP

  just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined and lovingly planned for us to be adopted to Himself as [His own] children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the kind intention and good pleasure of His will—

John 1:12 AMP

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—

Romans 8:14‭-‬17 AMP

For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “ Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies and confirms together with our spirit [assuring us] that we [believers] are children of God. And if [we are His] children, [then we are His] heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His spiritual blessing and inheritance], if indeed we share in His suffering so that we may also share in His glory.


Day 4 : You Don’t Have to Live This Way!

If our toddler is throwing a fit in the grocery store, we correct him, redirect him—yet we have allowed our minds to have outright meltdowns with zero correction. We walk around acting as if we have no power over what we think about. 

Paul tells us that when we take captive our thoughts, we can wield our power for good and for God, slaying strongholds left and right. What incredible power is available to us every moment of every day!

In Romans 8:5, Paul said that “those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh” and that “those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit” (ESV). 

I have read and reread this passage in the past few months, mulling over how life would be if I could truly have a mind that dwells on the Spirit. A mind that is full of life and peace. A mind that consistently thinks about God—who He is and what He wants for me. I so desperately want the “perfect peace” God promises when my mind is fixed on Him.

As I’ve been practicing taking every thought captive, shifting my thoughts has become more disciplined. This is a daily battle! I may not be doing it perfectly, but I have seen significant improvement. 

Based on Paul’s writings long ago to the church in Rome, you and I can learn to mind our minds to the point that controlling our thoughts becomes reflexive—an automatic, intuitive response. 

I want to be so well versed in the patterns of thinking in line with the Spirit that my default is not to rely on the flesh but on the Spirit in everything. This is the goal of our deliberate interruptions: we abruptly stop the crazy spirals of our minds. As we practice the art of interruption, we’re shifting to a whole new mindset, and with each shift we will find ourselves growing more and more into the mind of Christ. 

Father, I set my mind on the things of the Spirit. I set my mind on your peace. I pray to grow more and more into the mind of Christ! Amen.

Romans 8:1‭-‬11 AMP

Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do [that is, overcome sin and remove its penalty, its power] being weakened by the flesh [man’s nature without the Holy Spirit], God did: He sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful man as an offering for sin. And He condemned sin in the flesh [subdued it and overcame it in the person of His own Son], so that the [righteous and just] requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not live our lives in the ways of the flesh [guided by worldliness and our sinful nature], but [live our lives] in the ways of the Spirit [guided by His power]. For those who are living according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh [which gratify the body], but those who are living according to the Spirit, [set their minds on] the things of the Spirit [His will and purpose]. Now the mind of the flesh is death [both now and forever—because it pursues sin]; but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace [the spiritual well-being that comes from walking with God—both now and forever]; the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God.  However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God]. If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides]. And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

1 Corinthians 2:16 AMP

For who has known the mind  and  purposes of the Lord , so as to instruct H im ? But we have the mind of Christ [to be guided by His thoughts and purposes].

Isaiah 26:3 AMP

You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character], Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].


Day 5 : We Have a Choice

How we think directly affects how we live. This may sound terrifying, but, in fact, it’s exciting. Because while we may not be able to take every thought captive in every situation we face every day, we can learn to take one thought captive and, in doing so, affect every other thought to come. So what is the one thought that can successfully interrupt every negative thought pattern? It’s this: I have a choice. 

When we’re spiraling in noise or distractedness, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through stillness. 

When we’re spiraling in isolation, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through community. 

When we’re spiraling in anxiety, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through trust in His good and sovereign purposes. 

When we’re spiralling in cynicism, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through worship. 

When we’re spiralling in self-importance, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through humility. 

When we’re spiralling into victimhood, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through gratitude. 

When we’re spiralling in complacency, we have a choice to shift our minds back to God through serving Him and others. 

If you have trusted in Jesus as your Saviour, you have a God-given, God-empowered, God-redeemed ability to choose what you think about. You have a choice regarding where you focus your energy. You have a choice regarding what you live for. You are not subject to your behaviours, genes, or circumstances. You are not subject to your passions, lusts, or emotions. You are not subject to your thoughts. 

No fixation exists outside God’s long-armed reach. Because we are a “new creation,” we have a choice.

When we think new thoughts, we physically alter our brains.

When we think new thoughts, we make healthier neural connections.

When we think new thoughts, we blaze new trails.

When we think new thoughts, everything changes.

God, I choose today to take every thought captive because I know You are more powerful than my thoughts, my circumstances, and my fears. Thank You for making me a new creation so that I can choose You! Amen.

2 Corinthians 5:17 AMP

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

But Jesus looked at them and said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
