Message from James post about the Opus.

James sent me a Instagram post about a film called "don't look up" So I goolge it to see what it's about and this just pop right out
"It’s true that the latest star-studded opus from Adam McKay"
It stood out because I am sitting reading The purpose Driven Life at at the bottom of chapter 16 I have written the word "OPUS"

I had written opus is the legacy you leave behind. I watched a film called the opus and that is where I got that quote from.

But in the purpose driven Life it said "LOVE IS A LEGACY"

Day 16 Purpose Driven Life

DAY 16 ......Thinking about My Purpose

POINT TO PONDER: Life is all about love.

VERSE TO REMEMBER: “The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” GALATIANS 5:14 (NIV)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER: Honestly, are relationships my first priority? How can I ensure that they are?

It's true when love is present everything feels wonderful 😍 But when love is not present, then we become distressed.

God is love, Satan is the opposit of love. Here are the highlights from today's chapter....

*Love means living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: Live a life of love. 2 JOHN 1:6 (NCV)
*Because God is love, the most important lesson he wants you to learn on earth is how to love.
*It is in loving that we are most like him, so love is the foundation of every command he has given us: “The whole Law can be summed up in this one command: ‘Love others as you love yourself.’”
*Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. It runs counter to our self-centered nature. That’s
*“When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.”
*“Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
*Love cannot be learned in isolation. You have to be around people — irritating, imperfect, frustrating people.
*Four of the Ten Commandments deal with our relationship to God while the other six deal with our relationships with people. But all ten are about relationships!
*Busyness is a great enemy of relationships.
*Life minus love equals zero.
*“These three things continue forever: faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love.”
* Love leaves a legacy. How you treated other people, not your wealth or accomplishments,
*Mother Teresa said, “It’s not what you do, but how much love you put into it that matters.”
* Love is the secret of a lasting heritage.
*When life on earth is ending, people don’t surround themselves with objects. What we want around us is people — people we love and have relationships with.
*In our final moments we all realize that relationships are what life is all about. Wisdom is learning that truth sooner rather than later. Don’t wait until you’re on your deathbed to figure out that nothing matters more.
*Jesus said the way to love him is to love his family and care for their practical needs: “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.
*I suggest that when you wake up every morning, you kneel by your bed, or sit on the edge of it, and pray this: “God, whether I get anything else done today, I want to make sure that I spend time loving you and loving other people
*Your time is your life. That is why the greatest gift you can give someone is your time.
*It is not enough just to say relationships are important; we must prove it by investing time in them.
*“My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.”
*The most desired gift of love is not diamonds or roses or chocolate. It is focused attention.
*Love concentrates so intently on another that you forget yourself at that moment. Attention says, “I value you enough to give you my most precious asset — my time.”
*Whenever you give your time, you are making a sacrifice, and sacrifice is the essence of love.
*Jesus modeled this: “Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and gave Himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins.”
*You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. “God so loved the world that he gave.
*Why is now the best time to express love? Because you don’t know how long you will have the opportunity. Circumstances change. People die. Children grow up. You have no guarantee of tomorrow. If you want to express love, you had better do it now.
*

Day 15 Purpose Driven Life.

THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE

POINT TO PONDER:

I was formed for God’s family.

VERSE TO REMEMBER:

“His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.”
EPHESIANS 1:5A (NLT)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER:

How can I start treating other believers like members of my own family?.....BY LIVING IN GOD'S LOVE BOAT πŸ˜‡

The four levels of fellowship...(Belonging-Membership)..(Sharing-Friendship)..(Serving-Partnership)..(Suffering-Kinship).

Belonging-Membership..“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together.  Instead, let us encourage one another…”         Heb. 10:25 (TEV)

Sharing-Friendship..“Open your homes to each other without complaining.” 1 Pet. 4:9 (NCV)

Serving-Partnership..When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it.  But we should give special attention to those in our family of believers.”  Gal. 6:10 (NCV

Suffering-Kinship..We are partners working together for God.” 1 Cor. 3:9a (TEV)

What came into my mind was THE FOUR LEVELS OF FELLOWSHIP (Learning how to love) all ended with the word "SHIP" and I heard this in a A.A meeting. (The A.A is a fellowship of men and women who desire to stop drinking) was this........

"WE ALL COME TOGETHER IN DIFFERENT SHIP'S".
BUT WE ARE ALL IN THE SAME BOAT". ⛵ ⛵ ⛵

Day 14 Purpose Driven Life.

DAY 14
 Thinking about My Purpose

POINT TO PONDER: God is real, no matter how I feel.

VERSE TO REMEMBER: “For God has said, ‘I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.’” HEBREWS 13:5 (TEV)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER: How can I stay focused on God’s presence, especially when he feels distant?

I need to stand on God's promise that He will never abandon me.

I have abandonment issues because of Taw. I loved him so much but he has crushed my heart by being unfaithful and then abandoning me over and over again.

So I must not go by my emotions that God will do what Taw did to me. I will never trust Taw again the trust has truly been broken so I will focus on God asI can trust God.

I love when this happens....I was reading my blogs from yesterday and Hebrews 13:5 is in one of my blogs it's confirmation that Go will never leave me 😍

Ha ha even in this video I just watched it tells me He will always be with me ❤️

Word For Today..(UCB).MONDAY 27 Dec 2021

 MONDAY 27 Dec 2021

HOW TO FORGIVE YOURSELF

I will not remember your sins.' Isaiah 43:25 NKJV

God says in His Word: 'I...am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins. Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; state your case, that you may be acquitted' (vv. 25-26 NKJV).

Today if you're condemning yourself because you think your sins are too big to merit God's grace, go back and reread those Scriptures carefully. Why did God say He would forgive your sins? 'For My own sake.' So what should you do? 'State your case, that you may be acquitted."

Why do we have such a hard time accepting God's forgiveness?
 1) Because in some cases we feel like we're reaping what we have sown.
2) Because we have condemned someone else for doing the very thing we ourselves did.
3) Because we think God likes to keep us twisting in the wind for a while so we will think twice before committing the same sin again.
 4) Because growing up, when we disobeyed our parents, they took away certain privileges until we had proven ourselves.
5) Because we think we have to be 'worthy' of God's mercy. But when you refuse to forgive yourself, you're implying that your transgressions are beyond the scope of God's grace. And that's a bigger sin-pride!

And here is another thought. When you always have 'issues with other people, you may be looking for someone to offend you. That way, you can point to how bad the other person is and feel better about yourself.

When you adopt a humble attitude and work on forgiving yourself because you know God has exonerated you, it's easier to forgive other people's mistakes.

Deborah and Barak : If God Be With Us...

life point
Deborah and Barak gave God glory for their victory over the king of Canaan (see Judges 5:1-5). Let me assure you: God uses people who will give Him the credit and the praise for their accomplishments. According to (I Corinthiansols 1:29) God will not allow a human being to boast in His presence. He will not allow us to steal His glory, which is why He chooses to use and promote those who know they are nothing without Him and who give Him the glory and the credit for all their accomplishments. Every time you success in your life, remember to give God the glory.

Page 382....Judges 6:8
what about prophecy?

Throughout the Bible, we see God sending prophets to speak to an individual or a group for Him, as He did in Judges 6:8. I believe that the prophetic ministry is still operative today and that a true God-inspired prophecy can strengthen, encourage, and comfort the person who receives it (see | Corinthians 14:3).

There is a difference between a person who has a gift of prophecy and someone who is appointed to the office of prophet in the body of Christ. A prophet has a stronger word for the church at large than someone who is operating in the gift of prophecy to simply strengthen and encourage individual believers.

The Word of God encourages us to welcome divinely inspired prophecy (see S 1 Corinthians 14:1, 3, 4). Prophecy must be consistent with the Word of God, and a personal word of prophecy should confirm something that is already in your heart. If a word is truly from God, He will make it happen in His own time. Hold the prophecy in your heart and wait to see if God brings it to pass. He does still speak today through prophecy, and He will confirm prophetic words to you when they truly represent His Heart.

How To Have A Healthy Self-Image. (Book ofJudges in the Bible)

how to have a healthy self-image

Gideon did not have a very good self-image (see Judges 6:15) ! Sometimes, Christians believe that speaking negatively about themselves is an indicator of humility or holiness. It isn't! So, what is a normal, healthy Christian attitude toward "self"?Here are a few thoughts that reflect a wholesome, God-centered self image

1. know God created me, and He loves me.

2. I have faults and weaknesses, and I want to change. I believe God is working in my life. He is changing me bit by bit, day by day. While He is doing so, I can still enjoy myself and my life.

3. Everyone has faults, so I am not a complete failure just because I am not perfect.

4. I am going to work with God to overcome my weaknesses, but I realize that I will always have something to deal with; therefore, I will not become discouraged when God convicts me of areas in my life that need improvement.

5. I want to make people happy and have them like me, but my sense of worth is not dependent on what others think of me. Jesus has already affirmed my value by His willingness to die for me.

6. I will not be controlled by what people think, say, or do. Even if they totally reject me, I will survive. God has promised never to reject me or condemn me as long as I keep believing (see John 6:29).

7. No matter how often I fail, I am not a failure unless I quit trying. Therefore, I will not give up, because God is with me to strengthen and sustain me. He has promised never to leave me or forsake me (see Hebrews 13:5).

8. I like myself. I don't like everything I do, and I want to change-but I refuse to reject myself.

9. I am in right standing with God through Jesus Christ.

10. God has a good plan for my life. I am going to fulfill my destiny and be all I can be for His glory. I have God-given gifts and talents, and I intend to use them to help others.

11.I am nothing, and yet I am everything! In myself I am nothing, and yet in Jesus I am everything I need to be.

12: I can do all the things I need to do, and everything that God calls me to do, through His Son, Jesus Christ (see Philippians 4:13).

Day 13 of Purpose Driven Life.

DAY 13 Thinking about My Purpose

POINT TO PONDER: God wants all of me.

VERSE TO REMEMBER: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” MARK 12:30 (NIV)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER: Which is more pleasing to God right now — my public worship or my private worship? What will I do about this?
My private worship is more pleasing than my public. What I highlighted below stood out from the book, because I am being lazy with my worship just now. I've not been to church in a while. I have not been well and covid hasn't help ither.  But I still need to make more of an effort. Lying in bed with a cup of tea is not real worship. So I need to get back to  place of worship even though I'm tired or worn out.As Matt Redman said "The heart of the matter is a matter of the heart."

When you praise God even when you don’t feel like it, when you get out of bed to worship when you’re tired, or when you help others when you are worn out, you are offering a sacrifice of worship to God. That pleases God.

Day 12 of purpose Driven Life.

THINKING ABOUT MY PURPOSE

POINT TO PONDER:

I’m as close to God as I choose to be.

VERSE TO REMEMBER:

“Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you.”
JAMES 4:8A (NLT)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER:

What practical choices will I make today in order to grow closer to God?.

INSIGHTS FROM BOOK :

*Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. JAMES 4:8 (NLT)

*If you want a deeper, more intimate connection with God you must learn to honestly share your feelings with him, trust him when he asks you to do something, learn to care about what he cares about, and desire his friendship more than anything else. I must choose to be honest with God.

*God doesn’t expect you to be perfect, but he does insist on complete honesty.

*If perfection was a requirement for friendship with God, we would never be able to be his friends. Fortunately, because of God’s grace, Jesus is still the “friend of sinners.”

*Job was allowed to vent his bitterness during his ordeal, and in the end, God defended Job for being honest, and he rebuked Job’s friends for being inauthentic. God told them, “You haven’t been honest either with me or about me — not the way my friend Job has…. My friend Job will now pray for you and I will accept his prayer.”

*Can God handle that kind of frank, intense honesty from you? Absolutely! Genuine friendship is built on disclosure. What may appear as audacity God views as authenticity. God listens to the passionate words of his friends; he is bored with predictable, pious clichΓ©s. To be God’s friend, you must be honest to God, sharing your true feeling, not what you think you ought to feel or say.

*It is likely that you need to confess some hidden anger and resentment at God for certain areas of your life where you have felt cheated or disappointed. Until we mature enough to understand that God uses everything for good in our lives, we harbor resentment toward God over our appearance, background, unanswered prayers, past hurts, and other things we would change if we were God. People often blame God for hurts caused by others. This creates what William Backus calls “your hidden rift with God.”

*Bitterness is the greatest barrier to friendship with God: Why would I want to be God’s friend if he allowed this? The antidote, of course, is to realize that God always acts in your best interest, even when it is painful and you don’t understand it. But releasing your resentment and revealing your feeling is the first step to healing. As so many people in the Bible did, tell God exactly how you feel.

*To instruct us in candid honesty, God gave us the book of Psalms — a worship manual, full of ranting, raving, doubts, fears, resentments, and deep passions combined with thanksgiving, praise, and statements of faith. Every possible emotion is catalogued in the Psalms.

*God wants you to worship him — holding back nothing of what you feel.

*Expressing doubt is sometimes the first step toward the next level of intimacy with God.

*I must choose to obey God in faith. Every time you trust God’s wisdom and do whatever he says, even when you don’t understand it, you deepen your friendship with God. We don’t normally think of obedience as a characteristic of friendship; that’s reserved for relationships with a parent or the boss or a superior officer, not a friend. However, Jesus made it clear that obedience is a condition of intimacy with God.He said, “You are my friends if you do what I command.”

*We obey God, not out of duty or fear or compulsion, but because we love him and trust that he knows what is best for us. We want to follow Christ out of gratitude for all he has done for us, and the closer we follow him, the deeper our friendship becomes.

*Because we have been forgiven and set free, we obey out of love — and our obedience brings great joy! Jesus said, “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey me, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love. I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!”

*Notice that Jesus expects us to do only what he did with the Father. His relationship with his Father is the model for our friendship with him. Jesus did whatever the Father asked him to do — out of love.

*True friendship isn’t passive; it acts.

*When Jesus asks us to love others, help the needy, share our resources, keep our lives clean, offer forgiveness, and bring others to him, love motivates us to obey immediately.

*We are often challenged to do “great things” for God. Actually, God is more pleased when we do small things for him out of loving obedience. They may be unnoticed by others, but God notices them and considers them acts of worship.

*Great opportunities may come once in a lifetime, but small opportunities surround us every day.

*Great opportunities may come once in a lifetime, but small opportunities surround us every day. Even through such simple acts as telling the truth, being kind, and encouraging others, we bring a smile to God’s face.

*God treasures simple acts of obedience more than our prayers, praise, or offerings. The Bible tells us, “What pleases the LORD more: burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience to his voice? It is better to obey than to sacrifice.”

*God spoke from heaven: “This is my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with him.”10 What had Jesus been doing for thirty years that gave God so much pleasure? The Bible says nothing about those hidden years except for a single phrase in Luke 2:51: “He went back to Nazareth with them, and lived obediently with them” (MSG)

*Thirty years of pleasing God were summed up in two words: “lived obediently”!

*I must choose to value what God values. This is what friends do — they care about what is important to the other person.

*The more you become God’s friend, the more you will care about the things he cares about, grieve over the things he grieves over, and rejoice over the things that bring pleasure to him.

*What does God care about most? The redemption of his people. He wants all his lost children found! That’s the whole reason Jesus came to earth.

*To be a friend of God, you must care about all the people around you whom God cares about. Friends of God tell their friends about God.

*Jacob’s passion for God’s blessing on his life was so intense that he wrestled in the dirt all night with God, saying, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

*The amazing part of that story is that God, who is all powerful, let Jacob win! God isn’t offended when we “wrestle” with him, because wrestling requires personal contact and brings us close to him! It is also a passionate activity, and God loves it when we are passionate with him.

*Paul was another man passionate for friendship with God. Nothing mattered more; it was the first priority, total focus, and ultimate goal of his life. This is the reason God used Paul in such a great way. The Amplified translation expresses the full force of Paul’s passion: “My determined purpose is that I may know Him — that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly.”

*The truth is — you are as close to God as you choose to be

*Intimate friendship with God is a choice, not an accident. You must intentionally seek it. Do you really want it — more than anything? What is it worth to you? Is it worth giving up other things? Is it worth the effort of developing the habits and skills required?

*That was the problem of the Christians in Ephesus — they had left their first love.

*They did all the right things, but out of duty, not love.

*If you have just been going through the motions spiritually, don’t be surprised when God allows pain in your life.

*Pain is the fuel of passion — it energizes us with an intensity to change that we don’t normally possess.

*C. S. Lewis said, “Pain is God’s megaphone.”

*It is God’s way of arousing us from spiritual lethargy. Your problems are not punishment; they are wake-up calls from a loving God. God is not mad at you; he’s mad about you, and he will do whatever it takes to bring you back into fellowship with him

*But there is an easier way to reignite your passion for God: Start asking God to give it to you, and keep on asking until you have it.

*Pray this throughout your day: “Dear Jesus, more than anything else, I want to get to know you intimately.”

*God told the captives in Babylon, “When you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.”

*There is nothing — absolutely nothing — more important than developing a friendship with God. It’s a relationship that will last forever.

*Paul told Timothy, “Some of these people have missed the most important thing in life — they don’t know God.”

*Have you been missing out on the most important thing in life? You can do something about it starting now. Remember, it’s your choice. You are as close to God as you choose to be.

Christmas Scriptures from Jennifer Heely.

...SCRIPTURE ON THE CARD JEN MADE WAS LUKE 22:19..
And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”

Psalms 19:9‭-‬11 NIV....
The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.

Psalms 119:103 NIV...
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Ezekiel 3:1‭-‬4 NIV...
And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. He then said to me: “Son of man, go now to the people of Israel and speak my words to them.

When I was writing these scriptures, the song I told Jen that I loved is playing....Redeemed by Big Daddy Weave. Now it's my Testimony song playing. The God who stays ❤️

The best gift ever!

Friday 24th December 2021

'Good news...great joy for all the people.' Luke 2:10 NIV

For many people Christmas is filled with dread instead of delight.

Author Jon Walker writes this: 'I'm sitting in a fast-food restaurant observing a young girl celebrating an early Christmas with her mother. Her presents are spread out across the booth and she just said, "I miss you, Mommy." "I miss you too, Baby," her mother says. Beyond the booth...a woman casually, but carefully watches them. Using my journalist's eye, I put it all together. The watching woman is a social worker supervising a structured visit for a mother and child who are doing their best to celebrate Christmas...a few minutes later foster parents arrive and take the little girl home. The mother leaves alone. There's a darker side to Christmas we rarely acknowledge. We create this fantasy that seldom matches reality, even in the best of homes...many Christmas memories are full of tension, not tinsel...the holidays are just another excuse for Mommy to get drunk, or Daddy to be with his new family...yet another reminder that the one we love is far away or perhaps never coming back...The suicide rate is extraordinarily high in December...depression as common as "Joy to the World"...more people hurt at Christmas than we initially imagine. For those tired of the hollow hope...of Christmas, the good news is, God is with us. Jesus came to earth to "bring...good news...for all the people."'

Jon Walker continues: 'Regardless of your situation, Christmas is the best gift you'll ever get, because: (1) it's the costliest you'll ever receive because it cost Jesus his life; (2) it's the only gift that lasts forever; (3) it's one you can enjoy for the rest of your life.'

Purpose Driven Life Day 5.

POINT TO PONDER:
Life is a test and a trust.

VERSE TO REMEMBER: “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones.” LUKE 16:10A (NLT)

QUESTION TO CONSIDER: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from God? What are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me?

Answer :  After watching todays message from Rick."WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT I BELIEVE"

I realised that going through my tests that I had to change my belief pattern.

You cant change your behaviour without changing your beliefs

I liked what he said in the notes with the message.

What is a worldview?

He showed me God made me for His purpose......(Theism). This is my worldview now. But before I changed my thoughts I could see myself in the other worldviews... 1. Materialism
2. Individualism.
3. Hedomism.
4. Pragmatism.
5. Naturalism
6. Humanism.
7. Theism.

"For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible...everything got started in Him and finds its purpose in Him." Colossians 1:16 (MSG)

So it does matter what you believe...it shapes your worldview.

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts." Proverbs 4:23 (TEV)

"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed." Proverbs 29:18 (MSG)

"Always be ready to give a logical defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope that is in you, but do it courteously and respectfully." 1Peter 3:15 (AMP)

So to strengthen my worldview I need to
*Learn What Is True.
*Discern What Is False. (This has came up 4 times in the last 2days)
*Turn From The World To The Word.
*Concern Yourself With God's Agenda.

"God will give you all you need from day to day if you make the Kingdom of God your primary Concern." Luke 12:31 (NLT)

Now I do believe I am not just talking my talk but I'm actually out of my boat and walking my walk on the water πŸ™

Rick mentioned a guy called Chuck Colson so when i went onto amazon i noticed a book called Walk Your Talk and the picture on the front cover was a guy walking on water...

Just something my Pastor said to me...lol

Rick Warren, Charles Colson, and Gerard Long are wise, Biblical critical thinkers. In 8 Video sessions, this trio of cultural scholars gently guide new believers across deep waters. They explore key issues such as life and death, good and evil, pain and suffering, truth, sin, reconciliation, history and the future - introducing new Christians to a different world view - one that views things the way God does

Day 4 Purpose Driven Life.

Made to Last Forever

Point To Ponder : There is more to life than just here and now.

Verse to Remember : "This world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever." 1 John 2:17(NLT)

Question to Consider : Since I was made to last forever, what is the one thing I should stop doing and the one thing I should start doing today?

Day 3 : Purpose Driven Life

Point to Ponder : Living on purpose is the path to peace

Verse to Remember : "You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their Purpose Firm and put their trust in you" Isaiah 26:3 (TEV)

Question To Consider : What would my family and friends say is my driving force of my life? What do I want to be?

The Spirit Of Python

When The Holy Spirit Warns You

If I Could Only Teach You One Thing...Rick Warren.

Do you know why you're here? If Pastor Rick could only teach you one thing, it would be the answer to that question.

You were planned and made by God, and you are not an accident.

He has a purpose for everything and everyone, and he created you to make a unique contribution in the world.

Finding your purpose begins with God.

In this message you'll discover God's five purposes for your life and learn how you were designed to uniquely fulfill each of them.

In doing so, you'll live a life filled with true meaning and significance. (Sermon by Rick Warren)

Day 2 : your Not An Accident

Point to Ponder  : I am not an accident.

Verse to Remember : "I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born." Isaiah 44:2 (CEV)

Question To Consider : I know that God uniquely created me. What areas of my personality, background, and physical appearance am I struggling to accept.

Things that Stood Out From The Book : *Regardless of the circumstances of your birth or who your parents are, God had a plan in creating you. It doesn't matter whether your parents were good, bad, or indifferent. God knew that those two individuals possessed exactly the right genetic makeup to create the custom "YOU" He had in mind. They had the DNA God wanted to make you.

Answer : My family background was a bit dysfunctional. I grew up in a family of 6 Brothers and 5 Sisters and I had trauma of my dad coming home drunk. He was lovely sober but drunk he was not. He was like a Mr Jekyll and  Mr Hyde. There use to be a film we use to say he was like. ..... So Lord please help me to see what you see. I use to look in the mirror and like what I saw but now all I can see is my failures. A song started to play in my head there as i wrote that, it is by Big Daddy Weave called "Redeemed". Boy that song is amazing. The tears are rolling down my face its like I was guided to hear these lyrics

                                                         "Redeemed"

Seems like all I could see was the struggle

Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past

Bound up in shackles of all my failures

Wondering how long is this gonna last

Then You look at this prisoner and say to me "son

Stop fighting a fight that's already been won"

I am redeemed, You set me free

So I'll shake off these heavy chains

Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be

I am redeemed, I'm redeemed

All my life I have been called unworthy

Named by the voice of my shame and regret

But when I hear You whisper, "Child lift up your head"

I remember, oh God, You're not done with me yet

I am redeemed, You set me free.

So I'll shake off these heavy chains

Wipe away every stain, now I'm not who I used to be

Because I don't have to be the old man inside of me

'Cause his day is long dead and gone

Because I've got a new name, a new life, I'm not the same

And a hope that will carry me home

I am redeemed, You set me free.

So I'll shake off these heavy chains

Wipe away every stain, 'cause I'm not who I used to be

I am redeemed, You set me free

So I'll shake off these heavy chains

Wipe away every stain, yeah, I'm not who I used to be

Oh, God, I'm not who I used to be

Jesus, oh I'm not who I used to be.

'Cause I am redeemed

Thank God, redeemed

Thank God, redeemed

The Story Of Jehoshaphat

Purpose Driven Life. ..Day 1 December 2021.

I got this book in 2013 8yrs ago. I loved it and decided last night that I needed to read it again. So let's see what comes up.

Point to Ponder : It's not all about me.

Verse to Remember : "Everything got started in Him and finds it's purpose in Him." Colossians 1:16b (MSG)

Question to Ponder : In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?

Things That Stood Out From The Book....
*You were made by God and for God---and untill you understand that, life will never make sense.

*Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.

We don't read the Bible ..The Bible reads us.

I once read that we don't read the Bible ..The Bible reads us. Found this video when I google to see who said it. It was quoted by David Paul Kikrpatrick

Tuesday, 14 December 2021

Listen To God and you will receive your answer.

This morning this stood out from the USB WFTD......"Some of us have deleted from our Bibles and thoughts those Scriptures that command us to "WAIT ON GOD".

"But I pray every morning " You say. That's good, but do you take time to listen?

So I open my devotional "Jesus Calling" and I read todays message and had to laugh. By listening I received a message I really needed to hear!!!!
