Truth Vs Lies
This documentary James told me about Hillsong has got me thinking. I was finding it hard because their songs have helped me.
Darlene Zschech was one of my favourite singers. So I prayed to God to help me to discern the truth.
Here are the messages I read from Darlene Devotional this morning.
My Birthdate : January 7
God Speaks
When you were in trouble, you called out to me, and I rescued you. I was hidden in thunder, but I answered you. Psalm 81:7.
Psalm 81 begins with the command that we are to sing joyfully and shout happily to the Lord. The psalmist doesn’t stop with us just using our voices.
He was a musician and worship leader. He tells us to sound the tambourine and drums in our song, to add some sweet sounding strings, and then to blow the horn boldly. None of this is to be timid. We are to make a joyful noise. Just as God told Joseph to never forget what He did for him in Egypt, worship in music is our time to celebrate the marvelous acts of God in our lives. To take the gift of music and use it for the reason God gave it to us is nothing short of miraculous, no matter how simple or how elaborate the offering is.
As long as it proclaims truth and comes from a heart of praise, our singing delights the heart of God. But what amazes me and causes me to tremble is that when we sing to the Lord, He speaks back to us.
The psalmist tells us he hears God’s voice in the midst of the sound of thunder. He receives a word of revelation and instruction from the One he never guessed would speak to him.
Don’t let that truth slip by you. Savor the thought that the Maker of heaven and earth cares enough to bow down and speak with us. To me. To you.
In my words and my music I will listen for your voice, O God.

The Bribe
Now while they were going, behold, some of the guard came into the city and reported to the chief priests all the things that had happened. When they had assembled with the elders and consulted together, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers, saying, “Tell them, ‘His disciples came at night and stole Him away while we slept.’” Matthew 28:11–13, NKJV
At least you can say this for Caiaphas: He was persistent. He schemed to trick Jesus. The problem is he was only tricking himself into believing he could thwart God’s will. He was not the first nor will he be the last to think he can stand against God. It is just not possible. God’s Word will be taken to the ends of the earth. On the day of judgment every knee will bow to the Lord God Almighty. This man was anointed to be God’s representative to the people and to petition God for mercy on their behalf. He had so lost his way through arrogance that he was in direct opposition to his call. He forgot the counsel of Solomon, who wrote, “Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18, NIV). Friends, there is a wonderful and liberating confidence that God gives us. But the warning that pride precedes spiritual ruin still holds. Celebrate and enjoy your successes, but give God all the thanks and glory. Christ has risen, just as He said. Hold firm to that truth. It will be revealed in eternity. Some will speak against God—every generation has its blasphemers and wolves in sheep’s clothing. Don’t let anyone deceive you. The resurrection is our hope of glory! I put my hope and trust in you alone, my Lord and Savior.
I am so glad I started that Bible study called Armor Of God" by Priscilla Shirer. What came to me was what Priscilla was talking about the belt of truth. In the session she told a story about how at the airport when they are checking your passports they look at it then look at you to make sure it's your picture on the passport. But the most important part is they place it under a light machine and this machine can tell if is real or fake.
So this is what I am doing. I'm trying to see what is real and what is false.
I just read day 4 of the belt of truth and something pop right out it's in the message above.
"IN SHEEPS CLOTHING."
So by running everything under Gods light I will be able to know right from wrong. Praise Jesus.

Quite Time With God... Message about : Enmity
This morning this situation with Sophie and Jean came up again. I can feel hostility rising in me. I saw this picture and thought. Because I am doing this Bible Study about the Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer he is trying to take my focus away from it.
So this must be a powerful Bible Study that he doesn't want me to learn. For the lesson in my life right now are exactly the lessons that is in this study.
"The battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places."
Love the message in this session ..... It mentions "ENMITY"

Repent, Teshuvah
The Hebrew word we translate as 'repentance' is teshuva (תשובה, pronounced “teh-shoo-vah”). And teshuva is a lot more than a feeling of guilt or regret. In fact, it derives from the verb 'to return'!
The Day of Atonement was known as a Sabbath, no matter what day of the week it feel on. This meant that no work was to be done.
The fact that no work was to be done reminds us that we can not work to earn our salvation.
We are saved wholly by faith. God called the people to deny themselves and be serious about their sin.
We live in a culture that isn’t serious about our sin. We are so focused on doing things for God…going to church, going on mission trips, being busy…that we don’t spend time being Christ-like.
Repentance isn’t preached- instead, we send a luke warm message to the masses that God loves us as we are. He does. But He can not fellowship with us as we are. We must be cleansed- repentance must happen.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you doubleminded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.” James 4:8-10
We like James 4:10 – but we don’t like verses 8 and 9 so much. To admit we are wrong. To even say we are sinners.
As I look at the Day of Atonement, I am also reminded about how orderly my God is. That He has a procedure for how to do things.
