Helmet and Sword..

‭Ephesians 6:17 NIV‬
[17] Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

This morning Dave Ramage my pastor had posted a picture on his Youversion Bible app about the helmet of salvation. I had left a comment saying I love what Colin said yesterday in his message. This is what really stood out for me when he said “ Wear the helmet of salvation and let it impact who you are and what you do.”

So I was reading Ephesians 6:10-18 something struck me. All the other pieces of armour had a coma between them except for the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit.

So I started contemplating on this and this popped into my head. They thought that was the end of the armour. They forgot about Prayer

I tried putting on the helmet of salvation.Yes it sheilded my mind for a little while. But Satan knew this and he could attack me after a while. I was leaning on my own understanding. I didnt know the word of God.

But the minute I started to learn the word of God things definitely started to change in my life. Also this is when I started to learn more about the other parts of the armour .

So  Collins message made sense to me yesterday especially when he said “ Let it speak to you, let it permanent your mind”

it wasn’t till I started to learn about God’s word in the Bible that my life changed. It lead me to pray more. Prayer was the thing I learned most to do through God’s word in the Bible.

Sometimes when I’m reading about the armour of God some people just mentioned 6 pieces of the armour. The belt,  The breastplate, The sandals, The shield, The helmet and the sword. They don’t mention prayer.

Other people do mention it so when we have put on the armour of God and we stand firm then it is time to pray as this is when the magic does happen.

But this is just what I think this is my opinion. What's yours?
