In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. —EPHESIANS 1:7–8
Do you live each day knowing that you are righteous before God because of your faith in Jesus, meaning that you are in right standing or right relationship with Him? One of the Holy Spirit’s roles in a believer’s life is to convict (meaning, to convince) of sin and righteousness. He reminds us and enforces the truth that we are righteous because Jesus shed His blood to forgive our sins and to make us right with God, who loves us unconditionally.We need to understand that we do not lose our relationship with God when we sin, but we do need to repent and receive His forgiveness when we sense the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
The solution for sin is that Christ died for our sins and paid in full the penalty they should have incurred. This is the reality in which we need to live. God’s grace meets us where we are, but never leaves us where it found us. When you feel convicted of sin, repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and move forward in the righteousness Jesus died to give you.
“Father, thank You for sending Your Son to provide the solution for my sin and to put me in right relationship with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
