Surely Something Can Fix Me ?

Ive found out it is only God that can fix us. But we need to be humble enough to admit it. And listen to the advice we have been given.

I love when this happens. When all the messages fit together , let a jigsaw puzzle. The first one i read was my perpetual Calender in my kitchen. Then second one was from my book called For Today, by overeaters anonymous. And then the last one was from Messenger X by Arden Bevere which was a  great message.

Messenger X.....

Proverbs shows us three kinds of people. The wise, the simple, and the mocker. All three go through the same thing. Hard seasons, same correction, same difficult conversations. And what happens to them is the same, but what they do with it is not. See, it says whoever corrects a mocker invites insult. Rebuke a wise person and he will love you. Same rebuke, two completely different responses. The wise person hears hard feedback and finds a way to be grateful for it. Not because he swallows everything that is said to him, but because wisdom is staying humble enough to pull the growth out of almost anything. The simple person hears the same feedback and doesn't know what to do with it. They walk through the hard season and say, I didn't learn anything from that. The mocker hears it and just grows bitter. They resent the person, they despise the season and they sink lower because they never saw it as a chance to learn. There's a book called Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl, and I believe that every single person should read it at least once in their life. He survived the concentration camps and this book is about how he made it through. And his conclusion is that suffering only means something if we let it. See, plenty of people endure hardship and they don't learn anything from it. They don't pull anything from it. His most quoted line from that book says everything can be taken away from a person except for one thing, the last of humans freedoms. And that is the ability to choose your attitude in any circumstances. So you can't control what happens to you, but you can always control how you respond to it. Some mornings we don't feel like pressing in, we don't feel like praying, we don't feel like facing what the day is handing us. And in that moment we get to decide which of the three we're going to be. The wise person says, whatever I am feeling, I am still choosing how I respond.
