Scripture : Matthew 14:28-29 : “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. '
Observation : Peter's action proved that he had faith in God's word
Application : I wish I had this kind of faith as Peter had. But like Peter also,when you take your eyes off jesus doubt comes in and you sink.
Prayer : Please Father give me the courage to take that step of faith without doubt coming into my heart. I want to have a kind of faith that I would be able to walk on water for you.
Power Thought : I'm not afraid to take a step of faith
Power Thought: I am expecting God to do amazingly good things in my life.
Its so funny the other night I was thinking about a scripture it was going through my head when I was sleeping. But when I awoke the usual I couldn't remembered it. Then when I reading todays devotional "Power thoughts" in the message it is the very scripture that I heard in my dream. A sign or what!!!!! especially when it's my 60th Birthday today👼
Scripture: Nehemiah 8:10 ....Be not grieved and depressed, for the joy of the Lord is your strength and stronghold.
Observation: Don't look to the world to form hopes, dreams, and expectations, because even if you get them, they won't be fulfilling. Look to God, Who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond anything you could possibly imagine (see Ephesians 3:20)....Expect Him to do great things in your life, not because you deserve it, but because He is good!
Application: I really need to Believe this scripture Ephesians 3:20(MSG)
God can do anything, I know—far more than I could ever imagine or guess or request in my wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing me around but by working within me, his Spirit deeply and gently within me. Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!
Prayer: Dear God please give me the understanding to believe this. I have doubt in my heart but I would love you to take that away and replace it with expectations on what you are going to do in my life. Its just as joyce Meyer said in the devotional "Don't look to the world to form hopes, dreams, and expectations, because even if you get them, they won't be fulfilling. Look to God, Who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above and beyond anything you could possibly imagine (see Ephesians 3:20)"
Power Thought : I can maintain a good attitude during trials, knowing that God provides my way out.
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
"No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
Observation: God will provide a way out for you that you can endure.
Application: When I was an Alcoholic God lead me to the Alcoholics Anonymous. I still struggle at times but I know the way out now. And The A.A help me to change my attitude. As the quote goes "Change Your Attitude To Gratitude"
Prayer: Thank You Lord for helping me find a solution to my problem. I just could not stop drinking the temptation was so hard, but you showed me a way out from the pit I was in and I am so grateful. I just hope and pray that I can help others.
