I received my new book by Joyce Meyer yesterday. I asked Geordie to open it up at a page and he opened it at page 77. 

It was Chapter 9 "Habbit of Peace" this really resonated with me because ive been praying about my characters defect and I want to find peace with a few of them. 

On the page Geordie opened Psalm 119:105 was on it and this was the exact same Scripture I posted on Zoom the other night.

When You Need a Reminder that God Is in Control:

When the future feels uncertain and worry keeps occupying too much room in our minds, in our hearts, God gives us the promise that He remains secure. He alone is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. So we don’t have to wrestle with fear-filled thoughts and be weighed down by overwhelming pressure and stress. 

No matter what we face, He hasn’t lost control. It may seem as if life is too chaotic and uncertain, but God remains steadfast, immovable, and strong. He doesn’t change based on our circumstances or popular opinion. Nothing takes Him unaware. And He can turn around for good whatever hard times we walk through in this life. 

We can confidently trust that the Lord will take every trial or season of brokenness that has caused worry and havoc in our lives, and use it to bring great blessing, deeper perseverance, and glory to Himself instead. He is fully able to show Himself strong on our behalf, as we allow Him to do what only He can do. What seems impossible to us, is possible for our mighty God. For He can accomplish far more than we could ever think or imagine.

Dear God, 

Thank you for your promise that you are our refuge and strength in times of trouble. Thank you for your powerful presence with us, no matter what we face today. We believe that you go before us, are with us every step of this journey, and that you cover us from behind. Forgive us for the times we’ve worked so hard to be self-sufficient, forgetting our need for you, living independent of your Spirit. Forgive us for allowing fear and anxiety to control our minds and decisions. We ask you to provide for our needs, even when we can’t see a way out of our current situation. We pray that you would cover us with your huge favor and grace. Thank you, Father God, that you see the big picture, and you are at work mightily on our behalf, even behind the scenes where we can’t fully see. We know that you will never waste our pain, and you are working all things out for good and for blessing up ahead. We trust you fully, our hope is in you alone.

In Jesus’ Name,

Recovery Principle Devotional 30th May 2021.."FAITH"

Read Job 19:8-27

When we experience pain or loss because of something that is beyond our control, we may feel like God is our enemy. The anger and confusion we may feel dont need to destroy our FAITH. We may never grasp why God allows such trials, but at such times we need to wholly trust in God, who is sovereign and will not allow us to suffer more than we can bear.

Job felt this way, too. He said, "God has blocked my way so I cannot move. He has plunged my path into darkness. He has stripped my honor and removed the crown from my head. He has demolished me on every side, and I am finished. He has uprooted my hope like a fallen tree. His fury burns against me;he counts me as an enemy. His troops advance. They build up roads to attack me. They camp all around my tent.... My close friends detest me. Those I loved have turned against me. I have been reduced to skin and bones and have escaped death by the skin of my teeth...Oh, that my words could be recorded. Oh, that they could be inscribed on a monument, carved with an iron chisel and filled with lead, engraved forever in the rock"(Job 19:8-24

Despite job's confusion and pain, he was able to conclude his complaint with a statement of his faith in God:"But as for me, I know that my redeemed lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. And after my body has decayed, yet in my body I will see God!I will see him for myself. Yes, I will see him with my own eyes. I am overwhelmed at the thought!"(Job19:25-27. God is on our side, even if we can't see it right now.

The Lord will help you understand all these things.

I love this Serenity Devotional from my Life Recovery Bible page 791. As it says at the end of the Devotional in James 1:5 God will give us the wisdom and I think this is exactly why it gave us these verses......

Proverbs 4:1‭-‬23 NLT...My children, listen when your father corrects you. Pay attention and learn good judgment, for I am giving you good guidance. Don’t turn away from my instructions. For I, too, was once my father’s son, tenderly loved as my mother’s only child. My father taught me, “Take my words to heart. Follow my commands, and you will live. Get wisdom; develop good judgment. Don’t forget my words or turn away from them. Don’t turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you. Love her, and she will guard you. Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. If you prize wisdom, she will make you great. Embrace her, and she will honor you. Corn

I was watching a video called "I Saw You" this morning in bed on my Chosen app and in the video at 21.00 Philip was talking to Matthew and he said if they ask you to tell you a joke tell them" I know a vegetable joke but it's corny."

And then I started to listen to the Encounter Meditation for today and this stood out straight away... in this meditation it mentioned  a young boy turning to his father and said  "I just told my first dads corny joke "

But here is what the encounters info said

 " Proverbs 22:6 : Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.

The theme of this meditation is teaching, training really. Training others, not by sharing corny jokes, but in God’s will and way by teaching and sharing wisdom.

So the revelation I got today is .....Yes our children are quick to pick up mimicking our ways. As the saying goes monkey sees what monkey do" So it is important to show them how God works in your life. That's the best way to teach them.
