“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry  Ephesians 4:26 (NIV)

The Setting Of The Sun
When was the last time you sat and watched a sunset?

I pray this meditation from Ephesians 4 will encourage you to pause along the way for creation to remind you of the Creator.  For the last light of day to prompt you to forgive. The setting of the sun to inspire you to praise Elohim with awe-inspired reverence.

Consider that as I offer you this prayer of benediction to remember that even on those days that God seems most distant, remember that even the setting of the sun can remind you of His teaching. May creation bring you to awe-inspired reverence for Christ, the awareness of the Holy Spirit, and be reminded of the ever-presence of God. Amen.

Matthew 6:25 Encounter Meditation

Do Not Be Anxious.  “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25 (ESV)

A Cure For Anxiety
Do you ever feel paralyzed by fear and anxiety?

This meditation from the 6th chapter of Matthew will take you back to that sermon.  The sermon on the mount where you can meditate in the hope of Jesus’ cure for anxiety.

Pray now that you remember to stop being worried or anxious, perpetually uneasy, and distracted about your life.  God cares for you and provides for you more than anything else in His creation. And besides, worrying won’t add one hour to the length of your life.   Now to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever will be. Amen.

Blessed are those who obey his covenant laws. They trust in him with all their hearts. Psalm 119:2 (NIRV)

Seek With Your Whole Heart
What does it mean to seek something with your whole heart?  And nothing but your heart?

This meditation from Psalm 119 is on seeking. Seeking God, but not casually seeking.  Seeking God with your heart, your whole heart, and nothing but your heart.

Accept this closing benediction and blessing over you. Seek God and obey His covenant laws.  Seek Him and trust in God with your heart, your whole heart, and nothing but your heart to then encounter Him completely within you in, Amen.

Listen Now to the Meditation.

The word for dog and Whole hearted are quite similar..(Caleb/Celeb)

The meaning of Whole hearted is seeking after something in an energetic way.

I loved the way he made me picture it . He said. "I love the image of us seeking God like a dog seeking its owner. See it now in your mind clawing at the door, tail wagging out of great anticipation,  barking for attention, jumping and running in circles out of sheer delight. Take this next couple of minutes in your mind to seek after God in the same way"

Walls Fall Down: God’s Unusual Plan for Victory • Devotional

A.N.T.S...

When I was looking for a picture for my post I found it from this site.manchesteranxietyhelp.co.uk/cognitive  it is also about Ants: Automactic Negative Thoughts.

DAY 1 :
We all have Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTS) that we need to recognize and deconstruct in order to change our thinking. We can ask 5 simple questions to hold EVERY. THOUGHT. ACCOUNTABLE.
  • Is this thought true?
  • Is this thought absolutely true?
  • How does this thought make me feel?
  • How would I feel if I didn’t think this?
  • What has God said about this thought?
We have the power to renew our minds with the word of God and replace those negative thoughts with truth found in scripture. This is a good practice if you are serious about getting stronger in your thinking. Having a strong mind results in living life from a place of strength.
Questions:
  • What is one A.N.T. that you can identify in your thinking right now?
  • Take that thought through the 5 questions above. What changed about that thought after reading what God said about it.

John 16:33 KJV : These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Ephesians 6:10‭-‬20 NIV : Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

DAY 2:

There are a few types of A.N.T.s that we must decide to confront (and remove). “Only the Negative” mindset zooms in only on the negative and is the only option.

The “ALWAYS.ONLY. NEVER.” mindset which focuses on the “you always…, you only…, you never…” kind of thoughts, also causes us to swing from extreme to extreme.

“Catastrophe” A.N.T.s make us think circumstances are WAY WORSE than they actually are and focuses attention on the hypotheticals that rarely become reality.

All three of these A.N.T.s rob us of our balance, our contentment, and make us feel like challenges are insurmountable. There is good news! We can have peace of mind and renewed thinking by employing the 5 questions that help us to interrogate our thoughts.

Questions:
  • Which of these patterns do you see on a regular basis?
  • Take a moment and identify your default negative thought, then measure it against the 5 questions.
  • How did this process change that thought for you? How can you build this practice into your daily rhythm?

2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV : And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

John 8:32 KJV :  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 17:17 KJV: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 15:13 Encounter Meditation

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.  John 15:13 (ESV)

A Friend Of Jesus

Have you ever been around close friends that just seemed to always bring out the best in you?

I genuinely hope the theme of this guided audio meditation from John 15 will remind you of the gift God offers in having real friends and how he provides a guide to discovering true friendship when you consider his son, Jesus.

Let me pray that your friendship with Christ remains faithful.  That you stay with Him. That you experience the joy and delight of being with Him.  That you feel full, complete, and overflowing in his presence. That you love Him without motive, seeking the best.  And willing to do anything for him. May he bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord smile upon you, show you His favor, and give you His peace. Amen.

Remember Lot's Wife Who Turned Into A Pillar Of Salt

This morning I was listening to a video on youtube by Grace For Purpose called  "IT HAPPENS IN YOUR MIND FIRST" Nightmares of the past

And they were talking about Lots wife and how she disobeyed God. Lot and his family were told not to look back, but Lots wife looked back and she was turned into a pillar of salt. so these points stood out for me from the video

1) It's almost impossible to have the full benefit of the future. If you have not learned the lessons that God intended to teach you in your past.

2)You went through that trauma for a reason you went through it for a season. Don't allow the devil to flip God's script in your mind and allow you to believe that you will never be better than your past.

3) Don't allow the devil to let the pain of your past haunt you but rather let go of what you need to let go of that bitterness , that resentment let it go  and learn what you need to learn, how to forgive, and how to surrender to God.

4)Don't let your past be a weapon the devil use against you

5)You have to Let Go Of Our Past and Stop Looking Back To Receive Our  Blessings in the Future.

6)We need to Declare by faith what God can do. And what God will do in our future . Even when the present still looks like your past.

His Eye Is On The Sparrow

God Hears Our Cries
The promise of food had encouraged Jacob and his family to leave their famine-stricken land and relocate to Egypt with Joseph. For a time, everything was terrific, but their experience took a turn for the worse when a new king came into power. He didn’t like the idea of Israel’s people growing in stature and number, so he put them to work, ruthlessly enslaving them. Their lives were filled with tears and bitterness.

The people of God still had His promises, but those promises seemed empty. It was easier to trust God when they were receiving the benefit of food than when they were enslaved. In the long years of oppression, some must have said to themselves, “I think God’s forgotten His promise. I wonder if He’s really going to do what He said.” Despite their doubt, they called out to God, desperately seeking rescue.

God had not forgotten, and His answer came. God heard their cry, He heard their groaning, and in response, He introduced a rescue operation. God would not leave them in their misery. He was going to fulfill His purposes for His people and set them free from slavery.

This is what God’s people needed to be reminded of then, just as we do now: God hears our groaning, God knows our circumstances, and He will act. Indeed, when we are at a loss for words in our distress, we discover that the Holy Spirit even intercedes for us through our prayerful groanings (see Romans 8:26–27). That’s the level of God’s concern for each of us.

When our souls’ cries seem to go unheard, when we begin to wonder if anyone truly cares, may our minds recall these heartening words:

Why should I feel discouraged,
Why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely
And long for heav’n and home,

When Jesus is my portion?
My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.[1]

We should not neglect crying out to God but instead, make our requests known to Him. He hears, He cares, and He works on our behalf. Let us take our concerns to Him today.

Exodus 2:23‭-‬25 NIV
During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.

God’s Got Your Back

The problem for those who battle anxiety is there isn’t a physical weapon big enough to defend us from every fear we face in life. But, thankfully, we have a Shepherd who has pledged to defend us.

Every shepherd in the time of David had a rod, a formidable staff carved out of the center of the lower part of a tree trunk. With that rod the shepherd could fight off the lion, the cougar, the wolf, or the bear. With the staff it would guide the sheep, but with the rod it would pulverize anything that tried to snatch one away.

To put an “X” through your anxiety you are going to have to see Jesus as your defender. So often when we feel under attack, vulnerable or stressed we look for someone who will take up our cause no matter what. Someone, as we say, who has our back!

Some time ago when I was coming through a challenging season I traveled to speak at a conference in another country. Before the session started a large group of leaders and conference organizers gathered for prayer in an upstairs room behind the stage.

Afterward, a woman approached me with a word of encouragement. I had never met her before and she knew nothing about my personal life. But her words shot through me that night. She said, “I just wanted to encourage you...I sense someone’s trying to trip you up, but God’s got your back.”

What she didn’t know was that I was spending a lot of sleepless nights trying to watch my back.

I don’t need to know your situation to pass that encouragement on to you. I don’t know for sure what you’re afraid of right now, but I want to remind you, God’s got your back.

As a child of God in Christ, God Almighty has your back.

No evil plan, attack, or fear can stand up to your Shepherd, Jesus. And even while you are sleeping, He watches over you. He doesn’t just send you into the dark valley, he leads you through it with a rod in one hand and a staff in the other.

Call out to Jesus right now and thank him for promising to protect your life. Tell Him you are depending on Him to guard your life and those you care about. Because He is with you, you can close your eyes at night and know that He is watching every side, every angle. In fact, He sees your circumstances coming before you do. He protects you in ways you don't even realize. Jesus is for you. He loves you. And He’s got your back.

Psalms 23:4 NIV.....Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Psalms 59:1 NIV......Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me.

Psalms 9:1‭-‬2 NIV......I will give thanks to you, Lord , with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.  I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.

Isaiah 26:3 Encounter Meditation.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you! Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)

Kept In Perfect Peace
How do you respond to stress in your life?

I pray this meditation from Isaiah 26 will help you remember that whether your life feels peaceful or chaotic in the moments before you settled here, you can be kept in perfect when you trust in your heavenly Father.

May you know the calmness of Christ, the tranquil guidance of the Holy Spirit, and encounter the peace of God now and always. Amen.

Let Go & Breathe

When you stop and think about it, it’s amazing that we're not all in a heap in the corner given what is happening in the world around us. Add to that the challenges we face in our personal world and you have a recipe for worry, fear, and, in the most extreme cases, a complete nervous breakdown. It’s easy to forget that we are not in charge of the universe, and we then run the risk of collapsing under the weight of the affairs of the world.

Anywhere you turn for help with anxiety you will find a few common themes. One of those is to relinquish control—to bend the knee and admit to God that we are trying to manage life on our own.

To admit this doesn’t imply that we shrink our responsibilities, or that we fail to pray in faith, believing that God can change nations and history. Rather, to admit we are not in control allows us to remember who it was that brought us from death to life in Christ, and causes us to realign ourselves with the reality that He is actually in control of this world.

Let’s do that now. Transfer control to Him. Pray and do what is in your hands to do. But leave the rest with Him, knowing that’s when your rest will come.

Another theme is taking deep breaths. You might hear the encouragement to stop and take a few deep breaths when you feel a sense of panic setting in. That’s because the “fight or flight” mechanism that keeps you from harm triggers when you feel like you are under threat (real or imaginary). Once this happens, your breathing becomes shallow, or you unknowingly stop breathing altogether.

Re-igniting your breathing has a calming effect. The American Institute of Stress (yes, we have one of those) echoes this view, “Deep breathing increases the supply of oxygen to your brain and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes a state of calmness. Breathing techniques help you feel connected to your body—it brings your awareness away from the worries in your head and quiets your mind.”

It is God who gave us our first breath and it is God who gives every breath (Acts 17:25). So, it is God who can give calming breath to those who are crumbling under the weight of worry.  If you are going to be free of anxiety you must learn to take deep physical breaths and deeper spiritual ones.

Breathe out: I cannot.

Breathe in: But Jesus, you can.

When we breathe deeply, we remember the other side of the gospel story. Christ lives to be and do in and through us what we cannot do in our own strength.

As we close our seven-day journey together, I would love the honor to pray over you.

Father, thank you for every person finishing this devotional journey. Thank you for giving them the strength to make it to the end, especially those who were afraid they would give up and not make it this far. I pray that You will continue to open eyes by your Spirit so that each of us can see Jesus more clearly. And, I ask that You would give each person the faith they need to take the next step in Your power. You have broken every chain that binds us. Give us the grace to clothe ourselves in the light of Your truth and love. Jesus, we confess that You are Lord of all. Be praised in us as we cling to You and walk free from anxiety. Amen.

Psalms 94:19 NIV......When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

John 14:27 NIV......Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

1 Peter 5:6‭-‬7 NIV.....Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Isaiah 41:10 NIV.....So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

1 John 3:18 Encounter Meditation.

Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions." 1 John 3:18 (New Living Translation)

How Do You Show Love?

You may be familiar with Gary Chapman’s book, “Five Love Languages.”  The languages are “quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, touch, or an act of service.”  How do you like receiving and showing love?

This meditation from 1 John 3 is a reflection on love languages.  How we receive love, and how we share it with others.

Receive this closing benediction and blessing over you to remember to not merely say that you love others; but rather show your love by the truth by your actions.  So may you encounter the care of Christ, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and the abiding love of God now and forever, Amen.

He is the Author of Health and Abundance.....John10:10 (NLT).....The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life"

The first chapter is titled "COME TO THE TABLE" this was a theme at cherish when I was there two years ago.

I found this interesting because Decree has been coming up a lot recently and Pastor Joseph Prince was on TBN yesterday and his tittle for his sermon was "SPEAK OUT BY FAITH AND WIN"

Hebrews 10:23 Encounter Meditation.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 (ESV)

The Firm Hold Of God

Do you ever feel like you are barely holding on?

The theme of this meditation from Hebrews 10 is holding on. Wrapping your fingers so tight your knuckles turn white.  What is it like when we hold on to something eternal that will never move?  Something like granite. Something like God.

Let me pray a blessing over you that you hold tightly without wavering to the hope you have in Christ, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  And may you be filled with the love of God and may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you now and always, Amen.

Psalm 42:11 Encounter Meditation.

Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me?  Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God. Psalm 42:11 (ESV)

Dealing With Depression

Are you ever overwhelmed by anxious, hostile, or worrisome thoughts?  Feelings of depression?

The theme for this meditation from Psalm 42 is dealing with depression. Depression is real. And when you are experiencing depressive feelings, it can be so hard to seek God as your hope and help. But choosing to be here, you are taking an important first step.

Let me pray a prayer of blessing over you that even though your adversaries taunt you as if crushing your bones, while all day long they say to me, “Where is your God?” Remember to put your hope in God, to still praise him. May his promise be your healing, may his love be your desire, and his presence is what guides you both through darkness and when your skies are far from gray. And may the peace of Christ be with you now and always, Amen.

God's Message using the Boys sign......

Picture Agnes Morrison sent me of Facebook, I love it. God using the boys symbol to show me the message

Unique: Psalm 139:13 (MSG)
13-16--- Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then you formed me in my mother’s womb.Thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! worship in adoration—what a creation. You know me inside and out,you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;all the stages of my life were spread out before you,The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.

Special : Epesiansn 2: 10 (MSG)
7-10--- Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to  shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.

Lovely : Daniel 12:3 (MSG)
3--- Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless, star-strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever.

Precious : 1 Corinthians 6:20 (MSG)
16-20--- There’s more to sex than mere skin on skin. Sex is as much spiritual mystery as physical fact. As written in Scripture, “The two become one.” Since we want to become spiritually one with the Master, we must not pursue the kind of sex that avoids commitment and intimacy, leaving us more lonely than ever—the kind of sex that can never “become one.” There is a sense in which sexual sins are different from all others. In sexual sin we violate the sacredness of our own bodies, these bodies that were made for God-given and God-modeled love, for “becoming one” with another. Or didn’t you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don’t you see that you can’t live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for? The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body.

Strong : Psalm 18:35 (MSG)
31-42--- Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock? Is not this the God who armed me, then aimed me in the right direction? Now I run like a deer; I’m king of the mountain. He shows me how to fight; I can bend a bronze bow! You protect me with salvation-armor;you hold me up with a firm hand, caress me with your gentle ways. You cleared the ground under me so my footing was firm.
When I chased my enemies I caught them; I didn’t let go till they were dead men. I nailed them; they were down for good; then I walked all over them. You armed me well for this fight, you smashed the upstarts. You made my enemies turn tail, and I wiped out the haters. They cried “uncle” but Uncle  didn’t come; They yelled for Godand got no for an answer. I ground them to dust; they gusted in the wind. I threw them out, like garbage in the gutter.

Choosen : John 15 : !6 (MSG)
16--- You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

Exodus 20:16 Encounter Meditation

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” Exodus 20:16 (NKJV)

Hoping In The Lord

Do you struggle more with loving God or loving others?

I pray this guided audio meditation will help you better understand what God expects of you in your relationship with others.  The first four commandments describe how we should love God but the final six share how we should love others.

Now, receive this prayer of benediction to remember you shall not murder, You shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall honor your father and mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.  May you show the love of Christ, be guided by the Holy Spirit, and know all that God expects of you, now and forever. Amen.

1 Corinthians Encounter Meditation

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NLT)

Temptations Of The Heart

And once you succumb to staying under the blanket eating your donut, it feels impossible to stop doesn’t it.  What is most tempting to you?

This meditation from 1 Corinthians 10 is on temptations of the heart.  Physical temptations can be powerful, but the soft whispers of emotional temptations can scream even louder.

Receive this benediction to recall that the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. He will show you a way out. May you take the hand of Christ, experience the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and encounter the enduring care of God, Amen.

Psalm 46:11 Encounter Meditation

God Is Our Fortress.  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1 (ESV)

When The Earth Trembles

These are definitely "shaky" times, but have you ever been in an earthquake?  Feeling the earth trembling and the ground toppling beneath you?

The theme of this meditation from Psalm 46 is fear.  You will learn how to seek safe harbor when the world around you feels like it’s beginning to collapse. Seeking help in times of trouble when the walls start to scream.

Let me pray now that you encounter the peace and presence of God as your mighty fortress, always ready to help in times of trouble.  Even as life trembles and tumbles, don’t be afraid for he is your helper. Now may the Lord bless you, keep you, smile on you, and be gracious to you. May he show you his mercy and give you his peace through Christ.  Amen.
