DEVOTIONAL
Philippians 2:3-4 – “Do nothing from selfishness and empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interest of others.”
Do you have a close friend or loved one that is not on the right track in life according to God’s Word? Do you deeply care for them and want to see them living a holy and fulfilling life? Are you finding yourself getting increasingly frustrated because they do not heed your advice? Do you pray for them fervently but yet see any changes in them?
Sometimes, it can be challenging to watch your friend or loved one go through difficulties and challenges in their lives. It is even more challenging to try to reach out to them in love but not be returned the same appreciation or acknowledgment of your efforts.
James 5:16 tells us to “pray for one another, that you may be healed.”
He also tells us that “the prayers of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” It may not feel like you are not making a difference in that person’s life, but God is always working behind the scenes to help ALL of his children.
For today’s meditation, I want you to keep in mind that God does not want to see you stressed out over the lives of others. He wants you to trust in Him that He will help those in need in His time.
