My New Book Jesus Listens

When I got my new book Jesus Listen the book marker was in page 158 and I just love the prayer.

It's about having a positive attitude. As they say in the A.A change your attitude to gratitude. Because when your grateful you are more positive.

And I have heard this scripture Phillipians 4:8 a lot. In the prayer I have highlighted this part....

I admit that having a positive focus is not only countercultural but counter to my fallen nature. When Adam and Eve rebelled against You, everything was damaged by the fall- including my mind. As a result, focusing on excellent, admirable things is not at all natural to me. It requires persistent effort, trying to make the right choice over and over again. Lord, please help me choose to look for what is good--daily, moment by moment.

Philippians 4:8 NLT...
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

Genesis 3:6NLT...
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too.

Phillipians 4:4NLT...
Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!

Psalm 73:23 NLT...
Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand.

Jesus Listens .. Lesson :Thanking you

Revelation 1:18 NLT...
I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

James 1:19 NLT...
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

Mark 9:24 NLT...
The father instantly cried out, “I do believe, but help me overcome my unbelief!”

Psalms 28:7 NLT...
The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

Peripheral Neuropathy

Causes of Peripheral Neuropathy

There are many different causes of peripheral neuropathy. People who have a family history of this disorder are more likely to develop it. Other people may develop the disorder due to an injury or from another disorder.

In many cases, another underlying condition leads to peripheral neuropathy. This includes problems like hormone imbalances or a kidney condition.

The most common cause of peripheral neuropathy in the U.S. is diabetes. In fact, 60 to 70-percent of people with diabetes have a mild form of damage to their motor, sensory, and autonomic nerves. This often causes symptoms like tingling, burning, or numb feet as well as numbness and weakness on the trunk or pelvis.

Jesus Calling : Thankful Heart leads to Gratitude 🙏

"When you come to Me with a thankful heart, it opens up windows of heaven. Spiritual blessings fall freely through those windows and down into your life. A thankful heart opens you up to these blessings, and then you have even more reasons to be grateful... Being thankful doesn’t mean you close your eyes to the many problems in this world. It means you find Joy in Me—your Savior—in the midst of a messed-up world. I am your hiding place and your strength. And I’m always ready to help you!" —Jesus Calling for Kids by Sarah Young

"I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior." —Habakkuk 3:18

Telling the Truth...

Telling the Truth

Bible Reading: Colossians 3:9-11
We were entirely ready to have God remove these defects of character.

Colossians 3:9‭-‬11 MSG....
Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ.

Lying can be habitual. We may even have lied to ourselves, pretending we don’t have a problem with lying. We may have learned to cover up our problems by becoming excellent liars. We can see the unhappiness caused by our lies, how they’ve hurt us and our loved ones. And lying is one of the defects we can give up with many promised benefits.
Think about these promises: “Does anyone want to live a life that is long and prosperous? Then keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies!” (Psalm 34:12-13). “Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him” (Colossians 3:9-10). “Stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body” (Ephesians 4:25).
There are great benefits to truthfulness. What other virtue is accompanied by such promises? Honesty is vital to recovery. Since lying may be second nature to us, it may be difficult to change. Part of any successful recovery involves guarding our lips and our thoughts, to rid ourselves of the lies that hurt us and others. Since this may have been a lifelong way of coping, we must accept that learning to tell the truth is a gradual process.

Telling the truth is an excellent way to build bridges and break down barriers.

Man proposes but God disposes

The quotation Man proposes but God disposes may come down to us as a direct translation from a work of devotion written in Latin by Thomas a Kempis.
This work, his celebrated 'Of the Imitation of Christ', is the second most widely read Christian text after the Bible itself. It contains many sensitively and wisely expressed insights into spirituality and morals.
In Chapter 19 of Book 1 we find :-

"For the resolutions of the just depend rather on the grace of God than on their own wisdom; and in Him they always put their trust, whatever they take in hand.
For man proposes, but God disposes; neither is the way of man in his own hands".

The exact Latin phrase translating as man proposes, but God disposes; being Homo proponit, sed Deus disponit;

Many of the numerous insights contained in the Of the Imitation of Christ are very well phrased and judiciously expressed restatements of insights that themselves originate in the Bible.
In relation to this insight that man proposes but God disposes there are several originals in the Bible to chose from:-

Thus in the Book of Proverbs, attributed to Solomon the Wise, we read:-

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9

and again in Proverbs 19:21:-

"There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand."

With these verses we may also compare Jeremiah 10:23:-

O Lord, I know, that the way of a man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Lord I need you oh how I need you.

A bit of a wobble again today. So I had to push in a bit harder to be near to God. A few words of a song came to mind but when I was Google it a few songs came up but it wasn't the one I knew the Holy Spirit wanted me to play. Then I found it and when I read the rest of the lyrics I knew exactly why He choose this song.

Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here, I find my rest
Without You, I fall apart
You're the one that guides my heart
Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are, Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me
Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
And when I cannot stand, I'll fall on You
Jesus, You're my hope and stay
Lord, I need You, oh I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
You're my one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

Receive God He is the only one we need

This is so true.....many times I've heard "Stop using other people's messages and listen to what God is telling you!!!!!"...

But I must be honest their is doubt in my heart. Because of the things that's happened in my life. My heart has callouses on it. My heart has become hardened.

So when I was reading today's Devotional I started to cry. I can't feel God's love , I feel as though I've been abandoned. Just like in life with everyone who I've loved always leaves me in the end. So I don't feel supported.

But I've also realised I don't love myself and I have abandoned my own feelings.

As it says in the devotional "Trying to love without first receiving God's love is like trying to water something with a hose that's disconnected from the faucet. When we receive God's unconditional love for us we can begin to love ourselves.

So I need to receive first and that's a hard thing for me. I would rather give than receive.

But when I look back on my life that is how my heart became hardened. I was always giving and not receiving. People would just use me for what they needed then when I couldn't give no more they abandoned me.

But I once read that even Jesus never gave himself to people as he knew what humans are like. God is the only one that we can trust unconditionally.

This song came to mind and as it started I started to cry....
