Hunble yourself and He Will Lift You Up...

                          Lift You Up

This scripture has been going round my head. It was yesterday's  verse in The Youversion Bible App.

HUMBLE YOURSELF THEREFORE   UNDER GOD'S  MIGHTY HAND, THAT HE MAY LIFT YOU UP IN DUE TIME....1 PETER 5:6.

But it is also like the verse for step six in Celebrate Recovery.

JAMES 4:10 ...HUMBLE YOURSELVES BEFORE THE LORD, AND HE WILL LIFT YOU UP.

Then when I had put "LIFT YOU UP" in Google search engine. The song above came up first.

You know what, when I was listening to the song I actually felt lifted up more. When we do humble ourselves before God we get rid of the victim attitude. We take our eyes off ourselves and we put them on God. I just read this in my Bible....

Joyce Meyer commentary.......Putting the Word to work

To humble yourself "under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you" (1 Peter 5:6) means to ask the Lord for what you need and then wait on Him to provide as He sees fit, knowing that His timing is always perfect. Are you humbling yourself under His hand in every situation of your life and trusting that He knows what is best for you? He has great plans for you, so I encourage you to be still, stop striving, and allow Him to show you how to cooperate with His purposes for you.

Also, be sure to cast all your cares upon the Lord (see I Peter 5:7). Do not worry about anything because staying peaceful is actually proof that you have humbled yourself and that you trust God to do what needs to be done.

And this is what step Six is all about "We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character." and give us a new habit instead of our old ones creating a better character. It's no longer ger a defect.

In today's word in the UCB it tells us that
GOD USES THOSE HARD TRYING TIMES TO BUILD IN US PATIENCE, ENDURANCE, AND CHARACTER THAT WILL EVENTUALLY PRODUCE " THE HABIT OF JOYFUL AND CONFIDENT HOPE"

At the end this song started to play in my headTURN YOUR EYES TOWARDS JESUS
