Do You Have a Budget? Solomon in all his wisdom tells us that haste leads to poverty. Haste -- as in impulse buying. I see it and I want it. I've just got to have it. The average American is overloaded with debt and one of the primary reasons is impulse buying. It is the easiest way in the world to do is go into debt. This week I got something in the mail that said, "Just 142 easy payments." There is no such thing as an easy payment! Payments are always hard. Going into debt is like drug addiction. You say, "Just this one time" and you get hooked and end up giving all your money to impulse buying. How do you get control? By keeping good records and planning your spending, that's called a BUDGET! A budget is simply planned spending. A budget is telling your money where you want it to go rather than wondering where it went.
