Overconfidence is a great weakness and a liability. But if you are already humble, no one will need to humble you—and the world is much less likely to have nasty surprises in store for you. If you stay down to earth, no one will need to bring you—oftentimes crushingly so—back down.
Tomorrow’s life is too late. Live today. Martial
A good mind is no defense against the insanity of compulsive overeating. If OA hadn’t found me, I would still be saying “tomorrow”—despite repeated proof that tomorrow is a pipe dream and my only chance is to act today. I am abstaining
TODAY because it is today’s life I am living. I do not know if I can binge today and say, “I will abstain tomorrow,” but I have absolutely no desire to try it.
For today: Whatever I want to begin doing, I will do today. Tomorrow is too late.
Human, worldly love is faulty. It gives and it takes under conditions. As a Christ follower, you were called to love others the way Christ loves you: wholeheartedly and without restrictions. If you do not believe you are worthy of such love, then you will not be able to extend it to those in your life. ED tells you you’re undeserving, without value, unworthy, and forever needing to earn love and acceptance. God says love is yours today. Even if you tried to make Him, He would not take it away from you. He loves you, accepts you, and thinks the world of you! Embrace that love in your heart today. Allow His love for you to be so evident that you know you can love yourself, because you are worthy. Only then will you be able to love those around you with the kind of love that glorifies God and brings others authentic peace, safety, and joy. Today’s Scriptures 2 Timothy 1:7 Romans 8:37–39
