Question For Ladies At Group In Friday . Must Women Be Silent????

When I was reading 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 I conflicted with Paul. In this verse he said women had to be quite and to ask their husbands then in Galatians 3:28 he said we were all equal in christ????

I read in other versions that jesus was seen by Mary and some other women first. But Paul said it was Peter that seen him first.

But then at the bottom it says 🤔 so need to speak to my ladies at the group on Friday. . .

14:35 One interpretation of this passage is that Paul is quoting from a letter written by the Corinthians to him. They were the ones saying a woman should remain silent and Paul is responding to their questions. In other words, they were imposing a rule in the church that Paul refutes in v. 36. Some manuscripts move vv. 34-35 to after v. 40, which causes a few scholars to consider this as evidence of an early introduction into the text by Jewish scribes.

The only two places in the New Testament where Paul writes about women being quiet or not teaching in the church are in his letters to the church of Ephesus (1 Timothy) and Corinth. Both cities were centers of worship to the goddess Artemis (Diana), where women had the leading roles of teaching and temple prostitution was commonplace. To the Galatians Paul writes that there is no distinction between believing men and women (Gal. 3:28).
now you are covered and clothed with his anointing.

Galatians 3:28....And we no longer see each other in our former state-Jew or non-Jew, rich or poor, male or female-because we're all one through our union with Jesus Christ with no distinction between us.

John 4:39-42 NLT
[39] Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” [40] When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, [41] long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. [42] Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”
