But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. —JAMES 1:22 ESV
In listening to people tell me of their troubles and miseries, I find that they don’t lack knowledge of what to do about their struggles; the problem is that they don’t do what they know they need to do. Learning something is always easier than doing it, but knowledge does us no practical good if we do not take action. The lessons God has taught us always have to be applied, especially when applying them is not easy to do. But when we do the right thing when it is difficult, that’s when we mature and grow in our faith. If you have a problem right now, ask yourself what you would tell someone else to do if that person had your same problem. Then take your own advice, and do it yourself. You’ll be well on your way to victory. “Father, thank You for this reminder that I need to be a doer of Your Word, not a hearer only. Help me always be obedient to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Its funny early on i was watching a video by Aussie Dave and he was talking about Faith and he said we need to do (action) not just hear (knowledge).
Then just now i read this devotional by Joyce Meyer..
