Youversion Bible Verse For 31st January 2020

1. RECEIVE.

Prepare your heart to hear from God. Try a simple prayer like this…
Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse For Today :

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

2. Reflect.

Ask yourself what this verse might be trying to say, and think deeply on your answers. Here are just a few examples we might get from today’s verse........

Jesus expects me to share my faith with other people.
When I demonstrate God’s love, that draws others to Him.
I should work to remove things from my life that don’t show God’s love.
It is often through challenges that God grows my capacity to love others.

We have to be thankful in every situation. I've noticed if something happens that I'm not happy with it can spiral out of control. Our emotions take over and it can turn into many things like guilt, anger, disappointment and even can lead to depression.

In my book"Lifes Healing Choices" by John Baker on page 85 He calls it the CYCLE OF DESPAIR.

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer.

God thank you for showing me how my attitude can have an affect on moods. And by being thankful in all situations I can be healed.

Because as they say in A.A If you dont change your attitude to gratitude. Your attitude will take you back out to drink. Stinking Thinking Will Lead To Drinking!!!!!

So I am so grateful to You for showing me this today. And I will try and be thankful in all my situations.

Verse For 30th January 2020

1. RECEIVE.

Prepare your heart to hear from God. Try a simple prayer like this…
Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse For Today :

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
James 4:7 NIV

I have to surrender to God first, then resist the devil.

What I am doing is trying to resist the devil first. I can't do this by myself thats why I need God's help.

So when I surrender to God first he gives me the power to be able to stand up to the devil and be able to resist him then he will flee

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer.

Oh Heavenly Father I thank you for giving me the strength to resist the devil. As it is written "With man things are impossible but with God all things are possible"

I know I can't do this by myself but I pray that I have the discernment to surrender to you first, Amen

Verse For 29th January 2020

1. RECEIVE.

Prepare your heart to hear from God. Try a simple prayer like this…
Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse For Today :

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Luke 16:10 NIV

What I got from it was We need to be honest. If we can't be trusted with the little things in life who is going to trust us with bigger thing. Trust is a big issue for me so I need to learn to be a person that people can trust.

For instance I could never trust Taw again not to hurt my feelings. He has done it too much. I can forgive but trust would have to be earned...

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer.

God you know this is a big issue for me.  When I became a Born Again Christian I picked Proverbs 3:5-6 as my life verse.

Because I could trust no one not even myself or You. But the more I am having a relationship with your son the more my heart is opening up.

I have choosen The Passion Translation. Because my passion for you has grown through my trials in life and I am growing to trust little by little.

I just love this translation, because father you know my heart and I have placed it in your hands to do as you want. Let me do your will Papa.

It's so funny how I ended up calling you Papa. Just like Makensie in the shack. πŸ’–

Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go.
Proverbs 3:5‭-‬6 TPT

The Synchronicity with Matthew 11:29

One of those in sync moments. I was writing a blog about Calum's message on Sunday and this is a little piece of what I wrote

"And it made me think of myself and what was I carrying that was making me miserable. And the scripture Matthew 11:29 came to mind. Ive choosen The Message Version

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll  recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of Grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Then the photo below is from Facebook. I had a notification that I have missed a post from The Peace of Heaven Page. It's never done this before, so when I looked at it I had to laughπŸ˜†πŸ˜†

Then on the bus up to my wee group I was reading my book
And I was just blown away when I read this

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28‭-‬30 NIV

Our God is good....all the time..,.πŸ˜‡πŸ‘Œ❤️

Verse For Today 28th January 2020.

Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse For Today.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

I  believe God is asking me to remove things from my life that are too heavy for me too carry. Things that are becoming a burden.

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer.

Dear Lord you are a good good father and you do not want your children to be burden with the things of this world. So I ask you to put Jesus's yoke upon me so that I may learn His ways.  Because I am weary Lord and I do want to find rest...Amen..

Calum Message On Sunday 26th January 2020:What we store in The Ark

Calum message on Sunday was great, I got so much out of it. I decided to do a blog on it.

Calum was talking about the ark and how we keep what is special to God in it.
Just like in life as Calum said we store things up in boxes. Things that we hold precious to us. But also there are things that we need to get rid of. And the way to discern this is through  "GOD'S FILTER"

This really stood out because,  I just did that a couple of weeks ago. I cleared out my boxes which I store some important things in. But when I was clearing out there were stuff in the boxes that was really of no use to me.

By doing this it left room for the good stuff which was buried under all the junk so I can find them a lot easier now. It was as Calum said "Sometimes we carry a lot of stuff that is not productive for us"

And it made me think of myself and what was I carrying that was making me miserable.

This is what Calum's message was all about for me. All the notes I took are condensed into this one scripture ....Amaising how God uses people to relay messages to us.

And to confirm it look at a notification I had on Facebook Another conformation. When I went onto Facebook there was a post I had missed from yesterday and here it is below. πŸ˜‡πŸ‘Œ❤️

Another thing Calum said that stood out on Sunday for me was "The Beattitudes is how we should live and Philippians 4:8 is how we should think. Marvoulous.

I did another blog and I'm putting the link to this blog on it. Because my other blog was that I was watching a video on YouTube. And you have to be careful with what you watch because you definately need a God's Filter here.

So well done Calum on your message on Sunday. Because I will be filtering what I put in my ark from now on..😊

God's Timing

It's so funny I was watching the above video about anger. Yeah he had a lot of good stuff to say about getting angry and why we do it, and how to deal with it. But at times he was joking bout God I didn't like it.

As he said in the video" I want to tell you that before you form any opinion about what I'm going to say, first try to apply what I say in your Life and through application only can you judge the words of what you have heard and not before that "

Which I believe is the truth so I am going too try it and see. As God does tell us in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 "But test them all; hold onto what is good,22 reject every kind of evil.

But what the funny thing was after the video I went and posted my devotional on my Facebook account and the two had scriptures from Ecclesiastes plus they both had pictures of clocks.

I went and got my Joyce Meyer Version of The Bible and looked up the book of Ecclesiastes.  At the introduction she says this under the "Everyday Life Principles"

"We need to accept what God gives us and be happy with our lives.

Fearing God and keeping His commandments is the solution to every problem we face in life.

God is the ultimate Judge. We need to do things His way; and He will reward us accordingly

Solomon, the wise king who wrote Ecclesiastes, had tried everything. After he had exhausted almost every imaginable worldly pursuit, he finally realised that everything on earth is an exercise in vanity if we do not fear God and obey His Word. He makes this point in Ecclesiastes 12:13,:"All has been heard; the end of the matter is : Fear God[revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep his His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's Providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole (duty) for every man.

As you read Solomon's words in Ecclesiastes, remember to take his advice:enjoy your life, be happy with your work, fear God, and keep His Eord

I too have found that our lives comes down to fearing God and keeping His commandments.

I have been praying to God for a soloution to my anger. I feel He showed me this video but I also Think it was a test because I didn't find what I was looking for to right at the end of the video.

So I had too listen to this guru but i was beginning to get sucked into his way of thinking. He even said it himself in this video we can get people to believe in something if we try hard enough.

I was like this believing everything I heard but that was before I never had the word of God as a shield to other people's beliefs.

I just noticed this Wow😲, That's why I started this post it was because of my anger.

And here I find the answer , that is why the two posts were about Ecclesiastes,  God was pointing me to read this book Amaising !!!!!!

So the moral of my story is test everything that you hear but make sure it lines up with God's perspective.

As Calum said at church on Sunday we need to be careful what we put in our ark πŸ˜‰ . But Calum message is for another blog.....once I have written the blog I'll leave a link to it.

As I said here is the link that helped me to discern what I am watching and reading. Use a God's Filter πŸ˜‡

Sunday 26th January 2020

1. Receive.

Prepare your heart to hear from God. Try a simple prayer like this…
Heavenly Father, please help me understand this Bible verse.
…and then read the Verse of the Day. We’ll use today’s verse as our example:
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
JOHN 15:2

2. Reflect.

Ask yourself what this verse might be trying to say, and think deeply on your answers. Here are just a few examples we might get from today’s verse:
Jesus expects me to share my faith with other people.
When I demonstrate God’s love, that draws others to Him.
I should work to remove things from my life that don’t show God’s love.
It is often through challenges that God grows my capacity to love others.

3. Respond.

Use this verse as the basis for a prayer, maybe something like this:
Lord, please give me the courage and opportunity to share your love with other people. Please show me which areas of my life aren’t bearing fruit.
